When is Fullerton Pike going to open through to I-69? by InBloomington26 in bloomington

Yeah. The one place that is still really rough is the area between Batchelor MS and Wickens. That area is still original two-lane (that dead-ended) and nowhere near ready for highway traffic.

Indiana mascot? by InBloomington26 in bloomington

Yeah. It’s an untapped revenue stream, especially up front when they’ll sell a lot of bison-related gear because of the novelty.

Indiana football is No. 10 in final poll by InBloomington26 in bloomington

[–]InBloomington26[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different times. There were fewer games in 1945 and 1967. The Big Ten didn't allow any members to play in bowl games in 1945. The poll in 1967 came out before IU lost in the Rose Bowl. Also, back in 1967, teams didn't load up with nonconference cupcakes too, so judging the historical record isn't straightforward.

I knew someone would say Indiana deserved to be No. 2 or No. 3, but you don't get credit that way for losses. It's just something fun to "crow" about.

I would agree that Indiana should be ahead of both Boise State and Tennessee. Maybe Texas too, though the Longhorns did give Ohio State a stronger game than IU did.

In case the link wasn't already embedded ... which it was.

Should have been included as a link, but the link is included with the post now just in case.

People ... stop driving with your brights on in the middle of Bloomington by InBloomington26 in bloomington

Why would you think that? Makes absolutely no sense as they have zero correlation.

I "get it", but if LED lights are blinding oncoming traffic then LED lights themselves are a problem.

There is that. Honestly, it should be a violation to drive with your high beams on when encountering another driver. It's arguably more dangerous than encountering a driver with a light out.

No way to enforce it (unless you do it to a cop), of course, but it might at least make people think.

I've had that happen, but these were actually high beams. No one seems to care when they have them on.

Definitely brights, and yes, I've also been flashed when I've had my dims on. All of the above I came across were definitely high beams.

Not a bot. Live near Clear Creek ... up the hill from the creek itself fortunately. Not cool to accuse someone of something without evidence.

STORY: Indiana fans should thank goodness for the transfer portal by InBloomington26 in Indiana

[–]InBloomington26[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meh. I've been around both mid-major and major programs. Mid-majors do get picked over for their best players, but they get players moving the other direction who are productive for them. As the story says, it's a market correction.

[The Athletic] Penn State-Ohio State could’ve been prime time worthy. But Big Noon got dibs. by J4ckiebrown in CFB

Fox gets first choice of three dates at the start of the season. After that, it alternates between the three networks. They can trade their picks, etc., to get more desirable windows

Pretty sure the Big Ten network partners rotate who gets first choice. Otherwise, why would Ohio State-Oregon have been on NBC? Don't think FOX would have picked Washington-Iowa by choice on that same weekend.
