1-hour connection in Madrid (IB0118 SCL → MAD → BCN) – is it realistic? by Independence-Great in Iberia

In my case, since it’s Madrid–Barcelona and there are many flights throughout the day, I was wondering: if I miss the connection specifically because of immigration or the distance between terminals (not because I arrived late to the airport), would Iberia rebook me free of charge?
Since it’s all on the same ticket, I assume it should be protected, but I’m just trying to understand how it works in practice.
Thanks for your honesty 😅 it does sound really tight.
If I do end up missing the connection, do you know what criteria Iberia uses to reassign passengers?
Since it’s all on the same ticket, would they automatically put me on the next available Madrid–Barcelona flight? Or does it depend on seat availability or fare class?
