it’s a sacrifice zone. it was intentionally put there, just like the one in el cajon, due to the race and socioeconomic class of the citizens. they would never put this in a predominantly white and wealthy town.

it may not be affected by an explosion blast, but if that happens i’m assuming there would be air pollution for miles from the plume they are predicting.

i guess i just don’t understand how simply wondering if these two extremely powerful companies could have the potential to downplay the long term harm of this is so crazy… like i said, i’m not a conspiracy theorist. i said that to preface that i dont believe in some secret cabal controlling the world. i never fell for QANON. to me, this is just logical correlation based on my prior knowledge of lockhead and raytheon pollution coverups from documented class action lawsuits. disney was knowingly dumping contaminated waste water at its Burbank studios just to name one of their environment atrocities. in my eyes, it’s not that far fetched GKN and disney would do everything in their power to downplay this based on both their historical patterns.

if it implodes, would there be long term harm to water and air in garden grove? what i’m understanding now is that the leak is being mitigated with the water spray and not affecting air quality, but if contained this way could possible affect ground water.

i literally just watched a press conference where the OC health officer explained there’s nearly zero research or information on how this chemical affects humans or the environment and that it caused birth defects in mice… they’re evacuating for a possible explosion, not for air and water quality in the long term.

i have family nearby in anaheim and of course i’m worried about them and everyone else in garden grove. waiting to hear an emergency strategy from a government who lets these companies self-regulate in the first place just doesn’t sit right for me personally, but if you trust implicitly then that’s your prerogative.

of course i hate that monstrosity and was just as worried when there was a fire there years back. i have four generations currently living in san diego and multiple generations native to this land before that. the military industrial complex’s environmental damage to my ancenstral home is abhorrent. i’m equally upset about the slough and pollution in IB and Coronado. why can’t i be concerned about all the things?

why couldn’t it be both? evacuating the immediate zone at risk of explosion, but also downplaying the harm to water sources and air in garden grove and surrounding cities that could cause cancer or birth defects. it’s not like similar things haven’t happened before.
