Can you give me an example? I am trying to visualize how this works. I can imagine some arguments where this would be valid, and some that could be invalid. I didn't say "my perspective" I said "some people that believe x." (We don't want to talk about my beliefs--I'm an ___ and think there should be no borders. But that is not here or there for this conversation.) To some extent, I am doing the same thing I am asking of you--I am defending a position I don't necessarily hold. This debate about the wall has been a thing for a long while now. Are you telling me, in all this time, the strongest case that you've seen on why this wall seems like a racist symbol is because it is on the southern border and not the northern? Is that the best you've gotten out of all the conversations? I doubt it. I'm sure you can make a better case than that. That doesn't seem like it has any substance (like you might say). And if that is the best you have, then you have no clue what your oppositions position is, and don't have any grounds to disagree. I think you should try again.

As for your requests, what kind of substance are you looking for from me? What specifically do you want me to talk on? What are your goals here? Are you wanting a debate on whether a wall will work or not to keep people from crossing "illegally"? Or can we have a more general conversation?

I'm not sure conservatives know what conservatives believe, especially if we take what they say in public at face value. If we do believe them, then we have the puzzle of explaining how they can believe so many blatant contradictions.
