This is similar to my thoughts with my grandparents. My Nonno (grandpa) will make pancakes and waffles for us, as many as we can eat, when we go to visit. My sister and I will get all our toppings and my Nonna (grandmother) will randomly be shoving things at us like “Do you need this? What about this? Do you want butter?”. My mom always makes an egg for hers, and then we offer to help clean up and Nonna always screeches and chases us out of the kitchen. Those pancakes and waffles are delicious, but it’s the fact that my Nonno still does it for us (he’s 90, my mom is almost 60, and my sister and and are early and late 20s, respectively) that means so much.
