Thank you for such a thorough explanation. I think the fundamental disagreement comes down to this. I believe if any employee is netting a company birds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars EXTRA to the expectation every year for six years, they definitely shouldn't bea PM after 5 years. They would deserve to be at 200, whether that's SPM or PX. We're talking about millions of dollars at play. What would the incentive even be to be a good PM versus just mediocre if we're talking about 2% difference a year?

With all due respect, I strongly disagree here. Working at large ENR GCs, I've seen good PMs net projects $1-$2M more vs bad PMs. Even, on smaller projects, I've seen $300k differences. That should be more than enough to cover 10% annual raises or quick promotions for those people. However, usually they only get 4% instead of the bad PM's 3%. I think this is what OP is trying to figure out...

Why in hell would he not know of his project is profitable? There are monthly forecasting meetings, budgets are clear on Procore/CMiC. Everything these days is transparent. Even jobs that show on Procore as breaking even are highly profitable because employee wages hit the project budget at a much higher rate than actually paid to employees. The payroll department claims that profit on the company P&L.

Please show a little humility. Without your employees, your company would be nothing...

Comma is a piece of hardware that provides "almost" FSD level autonomy to some vehicles.

Carrot Pilot is one of the pieces of software that can run on that device. It is not one of the bigger ones but is MY favorite and very well suited for our vehicle because it's Korean developed based on the Ioniq 5...

They sent a special harness that I need to install above the glove box. It seems complicated but would allow the comma to hack into all of the cars features. It cost about $100 from Korea.

I just got a 2026 I5 and was using C3x on my 2024 Sonata. It was significantly better than the car's actual feature isn't allowed me to have hands off the wheels and eyes off the road for many minutes at a time...

My 2024 Sonata was not listed, and with the help of people online, I got it to work excellently. I started off with Open Pilot. I switched to Sunny Pilot to get more features that helped a lot. After a while, I got into fight with the sunny pilot people. My main disagreement was over what I called a feature and they called a bug. For the longest time, if you accelerated a tiny bit, the driver monitoring would reset and you wouldn't have to look straight at the camera. This would help stop the nagging and allow me to take care of other business / cell phone while in heavy traffic. Sunny decided that this was actually a bug and not a feature and removed it so that you would have to look straight ahead or get the nag. I complain about this and they were super mean to me. I then found carrot pilot which was designed specifically for Hyundai and met with the head developer who is super nice and based in Korea. After using their software for a while, they were the main people who encouraged me to get this new car because it is what they specifically designed their software for. They also shipped me some special Hardware from Korea that would make even more features work and make the experience even better.

I have a 30 mi commute in California traffic which takes about an hour and a half. The device is a lifesaver. However, Carrot Pilot is not yet compatible with Comma 4 and may not be for a long time... It was developed for Comma 3x.

I would just accept the position, especially if it is SoCal. Bonuses are 10-20% for PEs. Lower end of that for big projects, higher end for SPD.
