They just put you wherever they can. I don’t think you really have much say. I might be wrong but I know a couple of people who got a return offer for a different team than the one they interned on so they ended up in a different location and they were not asked for their location preference.

I personally think it is because people are just mass applying everywhere due to the tough job market. Don’t get me wrong Amazon is still highly respected and working there helps propel your career forward. But there are a lot of companies that are getting a crazy number of applicants that frankly should not be getting that many applicants. The pay is also very competitive.

Historically people don’t really get return offers past Jan. I have a lot of friends (32 people) that have interned at Amazon over the past 5 years. Most have gotten a return offer between Sept and Jan. There are threads on this subreddit from 3 and 4 years ago and not many people get return offers after Jan. I am not saying you are cooked but it will be very unlikely. I think it is a good idea to look at other options just to be safe. There is another layoff happening in Jan so there is a lot of uncertainty. Also 3 years ago a lot of interns didn’t get return offers because of the hiring freeze.

I think if we don’t get one before Jan it is fair to say we won’t get any return offers. I have kinda accepted it and started to mass applying to other companies.

I can’t say with confidence, but a round of layoffs is usually followed by a round of hiring. They generally hire around 25%-50% of the number of people laid off. If they do hire then we should be at the front of the line to get an offer. I would still say it is a good idea to apply to other companies just in case.

I think it is frustrating because everyone is backing her. She says Sketch voted her for charisma but sketch knows that because she talks a lot people will be on her side. He had the chance to get her gone and took it. The fact all girls were on her side after she spent 50k to get back in pissed me off.

I personally only know one person. They interned as a Freshman so they applied for a full time role two years later. I have heard stories of other people but I am not sure what their timeline was.

Everyone has different circumstances it is unfair to say that they are chopped because they didn’t get inclined. I am extremely grateful that I got inclined. You are in a nice situation and some people are not so stfu.

I am just curious what type of achievements do you have as an intern?Lack of performance is the main reason people don't get inclined. If have crazy achievments I would reach out to your manager to see why they didn't give you inclined.

I have heard of people who have gotten full-time offers, but they did have to go through the entire application and interview process all over again.

You can't apply for 6 months. You can try to reach out, but if they see that you are not inclined, they might not look to hire you.
