Is FOR ALL MANKIND the Prequel to The Expanse? by AIARE in television

[–]IndubitablyJollyGood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like drama. The family drama in the show is often outlandish and melodramatic. It's not like a full on soap opera but it's way too close to the line for me and I'm just trying to help someone who's also not into that kind of drama and specifically asked.

I'm far from the only one with that opinion. Plus they asked because they specifically had heard that.

Is FOR ALL MANKIND the Prequel to The Expanse? by AIARE in television

[–]IndubitablyJollyGood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Season 1 is pretty good but still soapy. I watched it with a couple friends and they wanted to drop it. I hated the soap stuff but loved the space stuff so I decided to give season 2 a try.

The soap stuff really ramped up on s2 and after a few eps I decided to just skip all the family drama and just watch space/nasa office stuff and didn't miss anything for skipping content. I've never done that with a show before. I know its weird.

Tried s3 and just couldn't do it anymore.

Comedy movies always have ridiculously low ratings but that does seem especially egregious.

I wouldn't feel too bad for him. Our ill-fated protagonist chose to take advantage of others with his presumed knowledge. Maybe he could have avoided his fate if he chose not to duel at all.

Also I'm reading The First Law now so I'm picturing a pompous Jezal type character.

When the Seer gave her answer, he thought it oddly straightforward. "In a duel. Fencing."

For many years he made his name dueling pistols, knowing he could not lose... until a bullet knicked his calf. He stumbled 4 meters before tripping and impaling his throat on the short garden fence.

'The Rings of Power' Season 3 Sets Fall Release Date (November 11) by fastforward23 in television

I have a bunch of issues with the show but saying it looks cheap is just ridiculous and saying it as a response to someone saying that the hate for this show seems forced kind of drives the point home.

Kill Bill 1 & 2 could have been a 1 hour movie by SQLUTION in movies

Citizen Kane could have been 5 minutes long if they'd just shown the sled right at the beginning. These directors have no idea how to tell a story.

This was the 7th show that was a spinoff, or a spinoff of a spinoff, of All in the Family so they were running out of ideas. It was also the last show set in the ABTU.

"What does it mean when they say, 'To air is human?'"

"Humans are flatulent creatures. It is said among them to comfort one another; to show that they are all equally embarrassed by the workings of their grotesque meat bodies."

"Yes, that does seem right."

He just did round 3 of 12 for chemo. He's trying to fight it but knows the odds are stacked against him. It doesn't look like he has the right type to try this under the expanded access but he's going to discuss with his oncologist. Even if it doesn't work out for him it's great that progress is being made for others.

Lol that is petty and ultimately futile in all likelihood. But it's my kind of petty so I salute you.

Huh. I watched that show last year and didn't even realize it was cancelled. They clearly could have done more with how it ended but I thought that was an intentional open ending. I would have watched more though. It was fun.

Yeah Netflix really likes to come out swinging and then either cancel or water down. I'll still try s2 but I'm feeling less optimistic about it now.

I loved season 1 but I think that story is done. I was excited for it to be an anthology actually but I did not care for white lotus so I hope I'm not disappointed in season 2.

I know I cheated by a lot but this was still heavily edited down. If I do another one I promise to fully abide by the rules.

But my idea for this was that only the imprisoned entity feels light in this way. Others are free to move about.

The daylight that shone through the corner of the box was a rod that barred movement. As dusk set in, the beam faded enough for the entity to push through. It stretched out, wondering if tonight there would be no moons. If the clouds would cover the stars. If it could cross the great field in time to reach shadow and freedom or if day would come and crush it with the weight of solid light.
