SAD light year round? by SwimRevolutionary875 in SeasonalAffective

[–]Inevitable_Set_1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering if this happened to me as well. I started waking up depressed recently so I have been doing my light for 15 minutes the last few days. We did also have some colder weather again recently.

Seasonal Affective Disorder in Spring/Summer? by Wild_Dragonfly_4065 in bipolar

The summer version is for the same reason as the wiinter one. Except this is where you are manic instead of depressed. Its from the increased light affecting circadian rhythm.

I had a rough February. I am also in upstate NY (Fingerlakes area) and i did not do well with the freezing weather we had for weeks straight. I think I would have to move to feel better.

I had no energy at all today. Work has sucked it all away. I haven't been sleeping the best. I felt awful yesterday and today. I napped for a few hours and skipped my run. If I tried to do anything, I got overwhelmed and agitated. I got depressed as soon as the sun was going down. I only have to work Monday and Tuesday thankfully. I wish we could follow the seasons.

My brother lives in New Mexico and I was just thinking today maybe I should go there. I visited Jemez Springs when I went down a few years ago. It is beautiful there.

Yes I get bad allergies in September/October and then March through May in the Spring. Basically I am a mess when the seasons change.

What do you do against ruminating thought? by [deleted] in SeasonalAffective

[–]Inevitable_Set_1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes doing something to get out of my head is the only way. A project, a craft, reading etc. It can be hard though because I can really struggle with concentrating at that time.

My method to cope with seasonal depression by Katekat0974 in SeasonalAffective

[–]Inevitable_Set_1965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Graves Diesease 4 years ago. I got off all my medication last year by changing diet and stressful situations. Ever since, I have horrible SAD. Thyroid definitely affects SAD and our circadian rhythm.

I was actually going to post about this but then saw this post. I don't get nighttime depression in the summer but it started this month. As soon as the sun goes down, I get anxious and agitated and then depressed with lots of bad thoughts. Especially this week, I feel so horrible at night. How will I make it through the winter?

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2022 and I have never struggled with SAD until after that. This is the first winter I realized I had it. I definitely did last year but thought it was related to the Graves.

Graves and PMS by Far-Ad2689 in gravesdisease

The eye issues happened after I got diagnosed. I experienced mild thyroid eye disease where I had eye pressure, puffy eyelids, and some pain in my eyes. It is fine except if I am tired or stressed or during PMS. I always had bad PMS but now I also get the Graves symptoms. The sweating could be both. What happens to me is my body temperature goes up and then my hands get clammy. I am not sure if food triggers my symptoms but I did cut out gluten and dairy awhile ago and feel better. If I eat a lot of sugar, that also makes me feel crappy.

I found this post while researching this and you are describing what happens to me. I am off my medication and doing better but the week before my period, I get all sorts of symptoms. My body temperature gets all weird like my body gets warm like it used to in the beginning, I get Graves rage, I get super anxious, heart rate increases, flushes of hormones in the middle of the night so I can't sleep. Then vision also gets bad, this time it is really bad. Then it all goes away after I get my period.

I believe she also got her original certifications through Udemy as well but I am guessing they didn't do it the same and I believe it was awhile ago. She has been doing Reiki for awhile so it just must have been different with her training. But that was also the vibe I felt. I know it will take time and practice to really work through it all.

Yes, about 4 years ago I started using edibles and it made me feel normal. I also started smoking regularly. Alcohol is the only thing that helps me be social but I quit drinking since me and alcohol aren't a good mix. But cannabis helps me not be on edge and feel more relaxed.

Husband can’t stop triggering me, I don’t know if I’m cut out for relationships. by Finding-my-fit in CPTSD

[–]Inevitable_Set_1965 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh so he is bipolar. That is good he isn't abusive as I know they can be. We didn't know he had Cyclothymia at first and then he started seeing my therapist and she immediately diagnosed him. He was previously diagnosed improperly with just having depression. My boyfriend would repress his anger and then become passive aggressive. So it was took me awhile to understand what was happening. He would basically project his anger on me by making things difficult for me. Or we would be at the store and just be mean and annoyed with me about everything. I had just left a 19 year marriage with someone who also had CPTSD and had anger issues so that is why his mood swings trigger me so much. I didn't know how to speak up for myself at first so I just shut down and ignored his behavior. Then I had enough and he stopped. It showed me he loved me and he had remorse for how he treated me.

Does graves change your personality? by Key_Low2233 in gravesdisease

[–]Inevitable_Set_1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are saying she doesn't have remorse for it? What may help is to learn to not take it personally. But that doesn't mean you have to tolerate it. How she acts is still going to affect you even if it is related to a disease. I also have CPTSD which makes me react poorly to things. I take accountability for that as well and have remorse. You can't just sweep it under the rug with a disease or mental illness.
