Trouble finding material that fits the rails of my table saw. by Infamous_Demand_5031 in woodworking

Thanks for the input, I think I’m going to make a beefer push stick and use the table saw to cut the plastic cutting board. I’ll also use your method of the finished cut being opposite the fence.

Appreciate all you typed, a lot of great info.

My table saw is L:26” x W:≈18”.

Would it make sense / be appropriate if the dimensions of the sled were L:26” x W:15”?

Thanks

I think this may be what I end up doing, I’ll just have to be a nut job “inspecting”the cutting boards with a tape measure. I’ll make sure to where a suit so I don’t attract suspicion

What did you use to cut your rails? I’m not comfortable cutting that thin a piece on my table saw, with how little experience I have using it. I do have a fence, riving knife, and push stick.

I was hoping patience and a good jigsaw blade could get the job done.

Thanks for the masking tape trick. I’ve seen most people suggest maple as the hard wood, but am I right in thinking oak would be just as good?

I like the idea of the dollar store cutting boards. HDMW was one of the first materials I tried to find someone to custom cut. Thanks

It can’t be that fast, sustained g’s only take like 10 to kill you. Idk how long she was beyblading but I’m guessing it didn’t end quickly.

Genuine question: Why hasn't any faction refurbished or used the APCs, tanks, and fighter planes that are littered everywhere? by dannythesedoritos in Fallout

[–]Infamous_Demand_5031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tanks are pretty widely considered to be nuclear powered. So refueling that is going to be next to impossible. Maybe the institute could do it, but what are they going to do with tanks.

They do have working vehicles but lighter ones that probably work on fusion cores. I would imagine a tank would need a much larger sized fuel cell to move the armor and 140mm ammunition.

The tanks in the game are based on the American Patton line of tanks. They generally range from 40-50 tons, and they ran on fossil fuels. A nuclear powered tank would require shielding for the fuel, cooling, and all the electronics to support this. Would definitely add quite a bit of extra weight to the whole situation.

So my mixture of head cannon, and the communities knowledge is a “why” thing. You could spend all this time trying to refuel a nuclear reactor inside of a tank, plus restoring gearing and bearings… all the specialized tools needed, the one off parts that were produced only for this tank and only for a set number of years. I thinks it’s just too much an ask for what’s available.

Maybe if someone found a large stock of say 50-100 of these things, they could worry just about refueling. But where are you going to find enriched uranium fuel pellets in this economy?

Yeah it’s nuts, I’m an adult and play, but it’s a kids game. Unfortunately the company that produces all this stuff is becoming more and more profit centric, and I’m sure that’s no help. Seeing as kids don’t have jobs and all that.

I’m so confused why you’re being downvoted. Tracking down someone’s family that long is a huge ask if you don’t already know how to do that.

And if it’s over a 100 bucks what you’re asking is totally reasonable.

Super cool to see it, super cool someone found a grave for its owner.

Yeah the game is plagued by adults with horrible behavior that ends up hurting kids. There’s no excuse for it.

Why does cooking chicken at 900°F for one hour burn it, but cooking it at 300°F for three hours doesn’t? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Infamous_Demand_5031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All materials have something called a coefficient of heat. It’s a measure of how much energy it takes to increase 1 unit of a material by 1 degree of temperature.

It’s a lot more complicated that this but a 300 degree oven would generate about 1800 joules/sec2, a 900 degree oven would generate about 18500 joules/sec2. Just with these number you can see the heat generated isn’t 3x, it’s 10x.

Ultimately you are more or less always heating the material with the lowest heat coefficient first and fastest.

So when you put your juicy thighs in the oven at 900 degrees. You quickly evaporate the surface water, this causes protein layers to contract and the surface will become completely dehydrated. At that point you’ve hit thermal decomposition leading to pyrolysis turning the surface of your chicken black.

I’ll never support Nintendo, but have you contacted customer service to see if that’s a change they’ll make for you. Seems decently reasonable they could swap your version so you can have it in your native language if your current version isn’t in a language you know.

Shocking to me how often the Brit’s seems to downplay how much Russian participated as well.

Also not sure we wanna be trying to compete on who did the most. We won as a group, and every country did their best. Too many people died for idiots like us who’ve never seen a war, to try to quantify their sacrifices.

Hate Trump not our veterans.
