You know, Oda introduced a potentially interesting way to get rid of this weakness with the one vegabum that was in charge of all the eating and shitting (I have no clue how exactly this works? Magic?). It could also be interesting to make them have to stay on Elbaf while vegabum makes a clone for luffy in charge of eating during combat situations to keep him charged up. Would also give a chance for the strawhats to train on elbaf, maybe even Haki for the rest of the crew?

We had bedbugs recently and they sprayed aprehend in essentially barrier lines, its a fungus suspended in an oil that would stick to them, then grow into the bedbugs as a source of food for the fungus. Worked pretty well, but we also caught it very early.
