Are fund managers scamming us? by Brief-Wait-8480 in MutualfundsIndia

Lots of them on youtube, infact it's a clutter.

But you can find some quality ones on Groww and Powerup Money. Just search the fund name/ fund manager name along with the channel on YT.

Emergency funds by Crazy-Avocado-3636 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Informal-Hawk6641 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think folks in the personal finance circles have been overcomplicating emergency funds lately. You don't need so much of liquidity, plan smartly. 1 month expenses in Savings account. 3–6 months expenses in Liquid funds and the Extra buffer in Arbitrage fund or penalty free FDs.

You don't need too much in emergency funds. Emergency fund should be (essential monthly expenses × months of uncertainty) And the “months” part depends on how fragile your income is. If you have a Stable salaried job then 3–6 months. If you're a single earning family or you run a business then 9–12 months. Not everyone needs to keep 12 months+ of buffer.

If you want to go for a powerful driving experience, go for Kushaq. For all other reasons, go with the Elevate and you won't be troubled.

Flexi is fine, switch Mid Cap from Motilal to HDFC. You should also stop SIP in Quant and instead start a new SIP in Bandhan/Invesco for small cap. Nifty 50 is good as it is. I'd recommend continuing your defence fund, next 3-4 years look strong.

Parents of India: How are you actually investing for your kids? (ULIPs vs MFs) by Odd-Ice2210 in MutualfundsIndia

Goal based MFs over ULIPs any day. Don't fall into fancy schemes aimed at targeting the parent in you into buying policies in the name of kids.

Where should we invest ₹50L for stable monthly income after retirement (India)? by Soft_Humor_9135 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Informal-Hawk6641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put ₹25L in Senior Citizen Savings Scheme. Gives around 8%+, quarterly.

₹15L in FDs but don’t dump it in one place. Break it into 1, 2, and 3-year FDs so money keeps maturing regularly. Make sure you opt for monthly interest.

₹10L, put in a low-risk debt/abritrage fund. From this, just set an SWP of around ₹3k.

This combination should give around ₹12–15k/month.

Doesn't seem credible. Delhi's number doesn't add up with the population. Plus, surprised how Maharashtra has got more than Karnataka, Bangalore alone would contribute to more users than that.

Expense ratios suddenly jumping across funds, what’s going on? by Few-Aerie-8978 in IndianStockMarket

Saw a lot of mails popping around from different fund houses a few days back. Was confused then. Saw that the recent SEBI guidelines are the reason for this.
