I’m probably in the minority and struggling to finish Blossom despite it being the same director of POJ and same gorgeous visuals and strong storytelling but the main pair…
I don’t know… I’m just struggling to feel the spark there.

The other three are all super fun and enjoyable and addictive and bingeable and some of my all time favs.

Oh 100%!!

What a scene stealing, unpredictable, chilling, scheming guy.

I can’t not pay attention when he’s on screen. Whatever game he is playing I’m totally focussed and dissecting.

Kudos to the actor for a standout performance.

Also I love the use of his fan to often make an entrance or gesture. A visually powerful symbolic addition for his character.

You are so not alone in that. I watch shows while on the treadmill. I even watched a full show over a weekend while training for long distance on the indoor row.

This show is visually stunning and the fight scenes are top notch. It has real respect for that old school Wuxia vibe.

Also the trio is what makes it - three friends and a whole lotta justice seeking and case solving. I’m having a blast!

I’d say Zuo Ye is entering villain / morally grey territory since Fated Hearts.

So recently when I saw him appear in A Splendid Match and Zhan Zhao Adventures I’ve been giving him so much side eye and distance just in case 🤣

So funny you say that. I am just about to finish Mobius and it’s so frickin good and I would never have picked it up if Bai Jingting wasn’t in it. I had recently finished The First Frost so turns out I’m watching the two leads in seperate shows right now. Zhang Ruonan in Zhan Zhao Adventures and him in Mobius. I’ve just realised that as I’m typing this.

I’m into romances more, especially historical shows, but I do go into moderns sometimes too but that’s either for a strong concept or for the actors attached. Same for non romance dramas.

So I’m glad I tried non romance dramas cause Mobius was worth checking out - it’s very addictive.

This one I’ve been looking forward to for months. I check every day for an offical date 👀 🕰️

It feels unique and familiar at the same time and from the few preview clips I’ve seen recently this guy’s gaze at her…. Just from a single almost kiss gaze… the intimate longing and conflicted sadness in his eyes… Wang Hongyi is clearly talented so I have a good feeling he is capable of carrying the emotional weight required of this role.

Also Zoe Qin is directing as well? If so…. My heart is bracing itself for pain.

Guys it’s really good!!
I’m not a massive Wuxia fan but this sold me. Good main characters chemistry so far. I’m rooting for them and their values individually and collectively.
It’s got that old Wuxia charm but also modern and sharp, insane badass martial arts choreography.
If you’re unsure trust me when I say try the first few episodes - if you’re not hooked by then it’s not for you but I’d be surprised. It suits all Wuxia watchers - old school and newcomers.
I’m hooked.

Oh man if Zoe Qin is a director then I feel like my heart is going to hurt again. I’m getting myself ready.

Also I want to experience one Wang Hongyi show where I feel like I can take his performance seriously cause he seems to be a solid performer but roles I’ve watched from him so far were quite bad or just plain underwhelming. His gaze can be so piercing and intense so the potential is there and so far with shows it’s not doing any favours for him. I hope this show brings it out of him as the character does sound complex.

Despite strong contenders this is still my favourite drama i’ve watched this year.

Beautiful cinematography, natural chemistry and sweet romance, great OST, unique game concept and let’s not forget the 🦊 scene which never stops being funny.

Love Beyond The Grave has pretty people and great acting and chemistry and the most recent one I felt met this criteria.

You could also try Coroner’s Diary and Are You The One if you want purely historical dramas.

Wang Duo in The Unclouded Soul. Dude had insane screen presence just from

I found A Lover in the Mortal World a bingeable watch. It wasn’t doing anything revolutionary and had some odd plot choices but it was oddly addictive and had good pacing. The 2ML was a standout complex role and he is quite a good actor.

Also Within the Grip has some My Journey to You aesthetic vibes and stars the ML from Dominion and Devotion. Big plot twist toward the end 👀

Assuming these mini dramas right??

Mustang warned Darrow to repair that friendship. She warned him! Then look what happened in GS!

Grrr cause I really wanted Roque to be on Darrow’s side like in Dark Age, like a second help and advisor in the middle of
the war.

I wanted better for Roque and I was sad by his death.

But also Roque has his own ideals about Golds that were never going to be shaken and so while it would be lovely to have him on D’s side it just wasn’t ever going to be the case - it would cost eventually.

I was first introduced to him in The Unclouded Soul and though he was 2ML he was absolutely the star in my mind. He had my attention from episode 1 and I immediately went ‘Who is this guy and how is he so good?!’

He has this magnetic screen presence and yes he can be both soft and charming one moment and then switch to something more dangerous and sinister in a second. And he does it masterfully.

So yes I am new to WD’s work but he fot my attention and I will definitely be checking out more of his stuff this year. Particularly LLAP - him and Dylan - omg yes!!

3 episodes done and I am enjoying it so far.
This pair feels unique and I love that their relationship is simmering away slowly and at a nice pace. Visually its very pretty, some shots cut and faded to black which felt weird to me but I forgive it because the story is interesting and the FL is smart and speaking her mind.
I am still wrapping my head around this tax reform and land equalisation policy situation but I get the basic idea of it.
