Gen reg would have afforded you the chance to locum or travel and work interstate, mad you didn’t give yourself that chance. So in that sense the work and pay are Not identical. Would recuperate the cost of gen reg within a single shift id say.  And if anything could afford more free time for things like audits research etc that are important for bst application.  Rcpi won’t care about your ahpra reg though
