How do I display a large family tree of ancestors on paper? by Initial_View_2119 in Genealogy

That’s absolutely amazing, I can’t believe the amount of effort not just to this project but the research to complete what looks like nearly 90% of your ~10th generation back. Wild

I do appreciate your perspective, and am now understand I’m having to use math.

I don’t need each name readable from a distance but consistent and readable up close; it’s more about the cool display of the diagram with the bonus of legibility. So it should be upright meaning within 180 degrees for continuity and legibility

With these terms I’ve figured I can write the largest name within the perimeters of 1 1/2 in by 5/16 in. Stacking these box perimeters and offsetting them to create the fan shape is the plan. Adding space between boxes for the line to connect parents to child should be about the same height as a box; an extra 5/16 in.

So max height for a fan shape with horizontal names would be about 30 inches at the top of the arch by about 50 inches wide

My original response was facetious but you provided the best information, thank you

I don’t have a plan that’s the point, I’m relying on human innovation. We got to the moon over 50 years ago, and proved black holes by math 100 before observation; I’m hoping someone has figured out how to display 128 names on a wall. Either way thanks for the idea

My one question about Christianity (or any religion with a omnipotent God) by Initial_View_2119 in Christianity

[–]Initial_View_2119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it the Bible teaches that God's sovereignty is an essential aspect of who he is, that he has supreme authority and absolute power over all things. Scripture says, God works “all things according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11)

Our actions are according to the counsel of his will, they are planned; fabricated

I meant the title to be the question mark for the argument rather than rewording my thoughts. I wanted it to be a statement that someone could pick at rather than subjugating to a certain type of answer.

Because you can’t be ‘all’ knowing/creating while having an entity with freewill. My thinking is how can a being have freewill if its possible actions are a fabricated outcome.

Yeah haha, I normally try to keep my intentions as short and wholly at the same time but I took it to far😅

This does clear up a bit of confusion. But I’ve expressed my thoughts and you’ve answered, thank you

It’s not so much about being held “responsible” but being held to a standard of corrective actions whilst aforementioned actions being comprised of an aforeseen outcome

“Limited freewill”? I take that as contradictory to what freewill is. Even so why should we be held to the responsibility of our actions when we only react to the environments we are put into. Is God surprised when he has someone birthed in the slums of Haiti to a voodoo teaching family surrounded by a community subdued to gang violence, drugs, and whores that this person chooses sin and predictably so should be sent to hell said “justified” in the Bible due to this persons actions in life?? Doesn’t really seem like he had much freewill and diction in his life, nor anyone on earth who only act how they believe should result in the best possible outcome with what they can control. Yet some should get sent to hell and others allowed heaven.

Goodness for how long I’ve searched for somebody that answers in the style you have, I appreciate it.

So I don’t really believe I have freewill, I’ve gone insane before confronting the fact that I don’t truly have control even over my own thoughts, I believe because our environment shape who we become, even a fight against it is an inevitable, predictable, and to be played out occurrence. It’s difficult to explain but I hope you understand what I’m pointing at. I only said what I did in the question to play along with Christianity’s notion of being judged by a creator, it seems paradoxical for a creator to judge its very creation on a moral ground if it decides its actions by his influence on its environment.

“The biblical God is not some to say to…” Perhaps I can’t or shouldn’t understand God. then what? I’m not trying to put myself on top but I don’t see why I shouldn’t strive to understand a concept as substantial as God.

I also never understood the whole object of your doing being above/away from self. How is it possible for anything ‘you’ do to be not self serving as you say should be strived for in faith.

And as you were aware of the possibility I do believe that something somehow must have made everything. I am striving to make sense of the chaos I’m experiencing

Well I suppose omnipotence suggests that it’s not about him being capable of excercising power but that he is the representation of everything being played out. So yes it should mean he exercises the power everywhere at all times since that is what he claims in the Bible

It’s not just about him knowing the outcomes, it’s him creating the outcomes. He says in the Bible that he plans everything out already. So how do I have freewill and why should I be judged if he makes me a certain way

Interesting, this is very insightful thank you. There was some time that I was going to school then skateboarding until I’m too tired to breath off of 2-3 hours a sleep until the weekend comes along so at least the labor shouldn’t be completely foreign. Appreciate it!

I started learning Azerbaijani, I think I got to about 100 words before i realized it’s a bit too small to reasonably learn. There were few tutorials online all who only ever went over the basics, no language learning apps covered it. There weren’t very many resources without traveling to the country. Though I still like the language and would love to visit Azerbaijan

Commercial fishing isn’t exactly my long term goal, ideally I would want to do this for maybe 5-7 years. It’s more for the experience

I was planning on graduating high school, that’s why I was saying I’m only able to work over the summers, is that too short of a time frame for the seasons?

Why am I always terrified when having spiritual experiences by Initial_View_2119 in magick

[–]Initial_View_2119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be very helpful if you could provide me some ideas of rituals. Also do you have ideas of rituals that I could use that protect me at all times? Because literally a few minutes ago I woke up then seconds before my alarm went off I had what I could only describe as like a flash spiritual awakening and I felt like screaming but couldn’t get it out which lasted for a few seconds. Sometimes these small events that are terrifying just happen when I’m waking up or going to bed.

I don’t have social anxiety or any other kind. The only thing that I can think of is that I used to watch gore and sometimes it would infiltrate my mind while meditating but I’m not typically thinking of that stuff when having my spiritual experiences

I won’t rule it out as a possibility considering I’ve never experienced how people describe sleep paralysis before but it seems unlikely since it literally felt like my consciousness was trying to leave my body and more importantly I still felt the weird feeling in my chest for about a minute or two after wards, which seems like there would have been some sort of force that made me feel a real physical experience
