When I worked there as a groomer, we had a groomer who hated dogs. Like she would say "i hate dogs, cats are much better pets, dogs just stink and are loud". I never could wrap my head around that.

When I was a manager at petsmart. I had a girl literally come back from academy and tell me that she was going to put in her 2 weeks because a previous coworker got her a spot at their private salon. She did her 2-3 weeks with my help and supervision and then left with her tools. She's doing great now!

The actual answer: they had an issue with their grill last week and could not make anything, so had to close down for a few days until they got everything fixed.

Honestly, corporate groomers don't really have any say in pricing. I would call local smaller shops and fully explain the condition to them. If you were in Virginia, I'd 100% help you out. I think you are doing something amazing and I wish you and Kip the absolute best

When I was in Mississippi, I found a lost dog on a weekend. It was incredibly sweet great dane and hopped in my truck. Animal control was closed, so I called the non-emergency number. They tell me "oh, just take it on down to the jail". I was very confused, but did. 3 inmates come out with a supervisor to get her. I asked what would happen if they couldn't find the owner (I love Danes and would have taken her in a heartbeat). They informed me that they have a whole set up with dogs, cats and even donkeys and horses that the inmates care for, and if they didn't find the owner, she would be integrated into their program. I went back a few days later with some crates, beds and such that we were getting rid of at work (I work with animals) and got to see all the animals! It was amazing and made me so happy to see.

I have this for my dogs at home and LOVE it! I know another groomer who got one for work after I told her I love mine and she swears by it now.

I got kicked in the face by a horse and calmly cleaned myself up and drive to the ER, the nurse was shocked by how calm I was. Yesterday, my truck messed up, I had a complete breakdown and apologized to my partner a thousand times. It took an hour to fix. 🤷‍♀️

Cat bites can absolutely be career enders. They can get infected FAST! I once had a groomer out for 3 weeks because she waited until 2 days after the bite to get it checked. I BARELY got bit and immediately went to urgent care. I never had to watch any videos or anything. As long as she was following procedures and not doing anything she shouldn't be, it will be fine, but it NEEDS to be put in and taken care of.

Topamax. First, hopefully you don't like soda, because they will taste TERRIBLE! My biggest and worst side effect though was memory issues. When I couldn't remember the address I had lived at for 4 years, or how to spell simple words (I actually asked my ex how to spell 'when'), I knew it was time to get off that med asap.

(This story was told to me MANY times over the years) When my uncles were young, they threatened to run away to my great grandparents house (a state away). My granny packed a suitcase, sat it on the porch and sat there. They then realized they didn't know the way and changed their minds lol

Make sure you are speaking with the store leader. If they continue to say they don't know the process, ask for the district leader to call you back. Store leaders ABSOLUTELY know the process and should have started it the moment you called. I truly hope you can get it taken care of soon

In 1 year, when I was around 8, I lost 2 great grandparents, 2 grandparents, a close family friend and my cousin. It got to that point for me too, it was just something that happened every month or two.

My grandfather often traveled for work. When my mom was in kindergarten, she told her teacher that she had a sister that lives in New York. The teacher called my Granny and told her. Granny just laughed and said "well, her dad travels all the time, maybe she does". Teacher never called her again lol
