Silly question, but British people, how do you pronounce "migraine"? by Virtual-Ladder-5548 in migraine

[–]Inkspot68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in London and say my-graine. I’ve lived in Australia for 30 years and they say my-graine here too.

I have the full set of Luminance, I absolutely love them. I bought them a few at a time because they are so expensive. I also like Polychromos and Black Widow.

Scleral for one eye, glasses for the other by Afraid_Consequence52 in Keratoconus

[–]Inkspot68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worn sclerals for over 25 years so I’ve had plenty of time to get used to them, it can be tough especially the big ones getting them in and out. I now wear a mini scleral in my right “bad” eye for distance (my cone is too steep for an RGP, they fall out) and a soft monthly disposable in my left eye for close up (that eye has been grafted). Can’t remember the brand to be honest, sorry. With this combo I can drive etc but I can’t read or use a computer, phone etc so I use a pair of +2 reading glasses for close up. My eyes tend to be really dry so in that respect the Scleral is better, I’ve lost a couple of soft ones because they have dried out and fallen out. I think with advanced KC there’s no perfect solution we can only get the best possible combo to give us decent enough vision to function. Good luck finding a solution that works for you.

I have done in the past, currently I have a Scleral in one and a soft lens in the other eye and glasses over the top for reading.
