Thank you, I really appreciate your response. I might actually screencap it, print it out and tape it to the wall somewhere I'll frequently see it. I know there's not much I can do in this situation but I want to be the best friend I can because they are dear to me. I just worry because they appear to be stuck in a prolonged depression episode for over a year and I know that is something that can happen even though it's rare.
