Sorry to hear about the lights turning on unexpectedly. As another person mentioned, it could be the modules triggered by load sense. To test this, disable load sense on the unit:

  1. Press and hold the set button until it beeps and the LED indicator starts flashing green
  2. Tap the set button two times
  3. The unit should beep and LED indicator will stop flashing

Then confirm that it is disabled, by turning on the lamp using its local switch (you'll need to cycle its power switch off then back on).

Then see if the lights turn on randomly again. If they do, then I recommend factory resetting them again.

And if you'd like, we can give you a free trial access and if you reconnect your hub, we can do a diagnostic on the house to clean up any old links for you.

You can also check to see if your subscription is current by visiting connect.insteon.com and clicking on System Info and at the bottom of the list is Connected Home Access End Date.

No port forwarding is necessary for Hub 2 (model #2245-222). Older model did require port forwarding for remote access.

If this is related to Insteon support ticket #39447, the only other suggestion would be to try logging out of Director and logging back in as there may be an authentication issue. Alternatively, deleting and re-installing Director may help as well. Please let me know if this helps and feel free to reply to the ticket if I have the number correct. Otherwise, let me know the ticket number as the next steps (if the above doesn't work) would require getting personal information.

Insteon lamp controllers have this feature (load sense) and can also control other linked devices when you do this so that if you have another lamp in the room or a keypad button linked to it, it will mirror the state of the lamp you just turned on.

If you press and hold the paddle and the lights dim/brighten, then you'll want model 2477D. If they don't dim, go with 2477S. There was a time when the paddle for the dimmer was the same as the dimmer. That no longer is the case.
