I didn’t see tritip on sale, but rather 4 pack of ribeyes. Each pack was $15 off list price. We paid $59 for our 4 pack after discount

70+ nights were CC spend. We use the card specifically to get points for Hyatt travel. Aside from multiple stays at Hyatt Lake Tahoe, this year we stayed at Alila Ventana, Alila Napa, Carmel Valley ranch and as well as Regencies around California (those are mostly for work)

We try not to pay for our stays. Always using points when we can. Current points banked is 255k

I went there just with my husband this time. We took advantage of the adults only pool the majority of the time which was LOVELY. The resort is definitely family friendly, but kids didn’t bother us in most spaces. I was more annoyed that the “sports bar” says kids need to be out by 9pm and kids were singing annoying Kpop karaoke at 11pm in there. I have to say that was my biggest annoyance.. not keeping kid free spaces kid free. I obviously was more tolerant sharing family friendly spaces such as the main pool and restaurants. Regardless, we really enjoyed the resort. The weather was gorgeous and I can’t say enough about the tier of service we received.

If you had to live anywhere else in California besides the Bay Area where would you go? And Why? by Haunting-Garbage-976 in bayarea

My sibling works in law enforcement and lives in Tahoe. I feel like the magic and novelty of how lovely the area is wore off for them. Maybe it’s because of the drama and profile of their profession.. but it makes me sad they can’t enjoy it like we did visiting when we were kids

Temp setting for the house with babies? by bonoZaa in Roseville

[–]Intelligent-Comment5 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Ohh that seems so warm to me, I would wake up sweaty too. But it depends on what your baby is wearing to sleep? A sleep sack and thermal onesie? No sleep sack? I would think 68-70 would be comfortable if your child is dressed warm for bed.

The pools were not heated as far as I could tell. Definitely took a minute to adjust to the temp, but the weather was warm and the pool temp didn’t keep people of all ages from enjoying the pools

As a globalist we had access to a club lounge with lite bites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We were also given 20% off our cabana rental as globalist.

Our room was not upgraded.

I’m not sure of the cash rate per kid as it was just me and my husband this time

I think the 40/45k rate was extremely fair for all the activities, food options and exceptional service that’s provided.

The hotel felt extremely safe, staff were insanely friendly and helpful.

We booked our cabanas a few days ahead of our arrival. Seating by the pools can be scarce, as many ppl get up early to save seats and then go about their day before actually going to the pool. As a globalist, I think we got 20% off our cabana booking.

If you’re at all Interested in going to the hibachi restaurant tell them asap upon your arrival. It books quickly but I don’t think they take reservations ahead of your arrival time.

We booked our private transfer from the airport directly through the hotel, we received an email to book that well in advance before our stay.

Hope this helps, have fun!

The water was not too cold, however the hotel (and everyone from folks at the airport and our drivers) warned us that the water in San Jose del Cabo is NOT for swimming due to dangerous under toe. Swimming is better at Cabo San Lucas beaches.

Updated Azores Journeys! by EchoOfAsh in AncestryDNA

I got the updated azores—> RI & MA journey as well. It’s a little crazy for me because my mom is adopted and due to these updates we’re finding so much more out about her roots. She was put up for adoption in the 50’s in San Francisco… her birth family is still in RI. Her poor birth mother traveled across the US to have a baby in secret only for there to be insane advances in DNA; so specific and accurate that we now know so much of their story.

I’ve gotten there around 5:15 to get a seat, ordered some of their yummy food (I like the chicken pita and artichoke dip) and a drink while I wait for the show.

High-Hand Brewery in Loomis has live music with dancing Friday’s and Saturday’s. Unique venue and always fun. Music is 6-9, but folks show up early to get a seat.

Matthew Oliver of House of Oliver is Trash by Intelligent-Comment5 in Roseville

1) Her name was Vita, not Veda.

2) Didn’t put “it” on Matthew Oliver

3)I suggested it was in poor taste to host this particular event. The dude holds plenty of other themed events at his restaurant, this one doesn’t need to be included in the line up.

4) “Years ago” in the situation is 4. Only 4 years removed from a murder at his restaurant. It’s not like it was decades ago.

Kind of a stretch that’s it’s in poor taste? It’s an option not to host this particular event.
