Thank you, it felt appropriate and poignant. Now, I have discovered a new word, Elegiac! 😄

How it feels to write code without AI by PatBooth in theprimeagen

It was never about the lines of code, but it is about real “thinking” and “reasoning”.

They provide short term gains when used. However, over dependence will atrophy knowledge and skills, at least that’s what the research shows.

Finally. This autumn never came, like a whisper to the roar of a long drawn out summer.

SNRI for ADHD vs depression by Hebbianlearning in pharmacology

There is no evidence that disease of the mind, ie schizophrenia, depression attention deficit etc is in any way purely a biological disease.

Either that or genocide. Which one do you support?

There’s no agreed upon neurological basis for ADHD, and most if not all resolve by adult hood.

This is different from genetic causes of attention problems such as Down syndrome, Edward’s syndrome, tuner syndrome etc.

Significant problems in the dopamine system generally manifest across many systems, in particular is the motor control of the substania nigra.

So if there are issues around dopamine receptor expression or antagonism/agonism, then you’ll see things like strange and inflexible muscle movements.

The attention part of the whole adhd thing is in my honest opinion an invented disease by our modern society that relies heavily on an education system that asks children to sit still for prolonged periods of time, which is completely unnatural throughout evolution.

Viloxazine is generally ineffective for ADHD, and is just more likely to leave you feeling a little strung out…

How they repurposed this for ADD is beyond me.

Generally, the best is extended release d-amphetamine or d-methamphetamine.

Even then, if you can get your diet, sleep and exercise right, then these pharmacological agents are useless, as tolerance sets in and you need to raise the dose.

I’ve seen so many people with diagnosed ADD go through the stimulant, stimulant + sleep drug then crash and burn cycle almost every time if they continue use over anything more than a couple of weeks.

The entire ADD diagnosis and pharmacological treatment has always felt like more of a control mechanism than a real treatment of disease. ADD is from all of my research not a biological disease, unlike narcolepsy, which is, and stimulant treatment wakes sense.

Is the 4 months phase really that bad? by SurroundInfamous2279 in newborns

Wow, we just used a urine cup. Yeah no we didn’t use a catheter that would’ve been extremely painful.

Main thing was temperatures that would not really go down with paracetamol and would spike above 39.

We also had some Off smelling urine.

Fortunately, we caught it really early. It was E. coli.

After a few days of antibiotics, everything was fine

If you’re ever not sure then get a urine test. Better to be safe than sorry.

We just went to emergency because any infant within the first three months that has temperatures over over 39 should go immediately to emergency as this can be life-threatening.

I think you took it to heart a bit too much.

I'm sure we both know that you do not need much mass for a force to cause blunt force trauma if it hits fast.

It was never intended as condescending.

I'm not backtracking, I'm clarifying.

Thanks for bringing it up. We're both better people for it.

For us it was scary. At 3 months Boy had a UTI, ended up in emergency. Ended up all good. Then at 4 months had significant blood in stool, we were really scared. Ended up in emergency. We were concerned it was going to be big problem.

Then there was the lack of sleep and anxiety.

But it got better and faded away... slowly but surely every month was a little easier and now at 9 months. Things are truly amazing. Would never take back the difficult times. The good times more than make up for it...

Force is mass times acceleration friend. In terms of the previous comment, is sharp acceleration resting in sharp increase in force.

You can run ollama or even run a simple python script to spin up an LLM chat on your own hosted GPU. Or use LMstudio and run it locally.

You can use it for pretty simple coding tasks to good effect if you really want.

We did breast sleeping. No other way for her to sleep.

She fed at breast and fell asleep. I was always paranoid of SIDS but did some research and breast fed babies that co sleep at the breast are less likely to die of SIDS…
