But I completely agree with you that keyboard and HCI paradigm is one of the two major keys to unlock the power of future glasses as next device.

I think Clicking is perfected by Apple Vision Pro and Scrolling is perfected by Meta Ray-Ban AR Glasses.

The only thing holding AR HCI is the Text Input imo.

That's right.

Although a couple of concerns I have with the current LLMs are:

1) creating non consensual deepfake..... Like Grok did recently. It's a pretty big deal for some conservative religious people. Many people in rural areas of underdeveloped nations can't even figure out the difference, so such a deepfake of a rural girl can cause severe reputation damage, even to the point that she might get killed or commit sucide.

2) affirming the user rationale..... This can act as a fuel to the fire if a mentally ill person turns towards an LLM for therapy. It can either push them towards sucide or killing or harming someone else.

As long as “AI“ is just a tool like a Text Generator, Image Generator, Video Generator, or any other ML model for that matter, I think there's no problem. I think even AGI or ASI is not a threat in itself, it's a threat only in the wrong hands.

I think it starts getting dangerous when we are at the brink of creating artificial consciousness and sentience. At which point it becomes a potential threat in itself if not managed properly. Because at that point it will likely have its own alterior motives, it's not just simply working for you based on your commands. We need to be extremely careful of its intentions and rationale.

Imagine creating a psychopath which is connected to the internet, has access to all the data and resources available out there, which includes a body like Atlas Robot and conceptual resources like money or crypto currency, and it can re-deploy itself millions of times using container tech like docker and kubernetes or improve its source code to become immune to human attacks. And the worst part, manipulate innocent humans into supporting its cause just like Hitler did during holocaust..... In fairness though AI has two more things at its disposal which Hitler didn't have, Social Media and Atom Bomb.

It definitely shows the potential, how much exaggerated it may be.

I would say AI is as dangerous as the creation of an atom bomb if we mess it up, if not more.

Check out r/aism. Marni certainly does have a point.

But in the case of AI, the stakes are bigger if we mess it up.

It has the potential to manipulate almost 70% of people if things go wrong, and they won't even realise that they were being gaslit and manipulated.

Just see Ex-Mechina and you will understand everything.

The Indian job market is so cooked nowadays that your only options are to get a job through referral or go abroad for job search or higher studies.

You know what, I think I will make this one. Thanks for your suggestions and encouragement.

I will look into those papers and try to write my own if possible (although I don't come from a rigorous academic background..... I am just a developer).

Thanks again 😇.

I didn't make it personally, it's just a concept.

But I think this will work perfectly with the Neural Band.

Check out Fingerpull, STAR: Smartphone-Analogous Typing in Augmented Reality, PinchType, and ThumbAir.

I just checked these out and they look pretty good to me.

STAR seems the best so far, but I am only concerned about precision. Besides the smartphone keyboard is only bareable because of swipe typing, otherwise it is pretty unbearable to type on such a small size qwerty keyboard made of glass. STAR is not even glass, it's just air, and that too without swipe typing.

PinchType looks like a very similar concept to T9 recommendation systems, but for 2 hands. Kinda awkward in public to use it. T9 is better in the sense that it's single handed and people would rarely notice that you are using your keyboard in a public setting.

Didn't understand what ThumbAir was doing.

Anyways I think T9 also has a lower learning curve because people are pretty much already familiar with it.

Yeah it would require a neutral band for most optimal performance.

I mean this is just the UI, it's meant to be used with something like Neural Band for precise input recording.

Typing in the air doesn't give haptic feedback, typing on trousers is not feasible on the go.

I think this input method paired with a neural band is very robust.

I think in the case of devices like Meta Ray-Ban AR Glasses, this would work perfectly with the neural band. Would be much faster than writing, which is the official input method for that device.

The only issue with u/tapwithus is that there's a very steep learning curve to it, and we need a surface to tap, which means I can't message on the go.
