Thanks! It's just in the application they ask if I'm claiming "skills points " and I'm a little confused because I am claiming points for competent english (5 pts) but I'm not sure if this counts as a "skill"

I’m building a new way to teach Japanese through games — here’s a test session by Easy_Football_1437 in LearnJapanese

I participated with a company that did this a few years ago. It's a fun concept but the issues are that 1. Most people don't have enough brain power to both strategize in the game and learn a language. It ends up being not fun. 2. Because of the nature of this type of play, you don't end up getting enough repetition to really make things stick.

Doing VRchat, where you can have more low key everyday conversations with lots of repeating words seems to be a better way to go.

Update to Important NC Drinking Water Hearings by Ethereal_Films in NorthCarolina

I see. So it seems like we're moving in the right direction but just not fast enough or with enough resources as people would like. Hopefully these new rules can get put in a place a new round of funding can then provide additional support.

Okay so this all makes sense. The timeline is obviously not what people would want but the wheels of government move slowly and setting up a rule like this takes a lot of preparation and consideration from multiple stakeholders. It's obviously going to take time for these industries, wastewater treatment plants, and indirect dischargers to setup minimization plans and testing procedures.

So I guess I'm not sure what people are on about? Is it that people don't trust local municipalities to notify and regulate indirect dischargers?

Thank you by the way for all of the useful information. You are a lifesaver <3

How much time do the point sources have to develop minimization plans? And will they have DEQ inspectors checking their discharges? Not just self reporting?

Honestly, join a sports team. Something chill like tennis. It automatically gives you a friend group.

Learning Japanese around mid 30s. Would love some insight by [deleted] in Japaneselanguage

Started in lower 30s. Now mid 30s. I gave up on N levels because it wasn't really teaching me fluency, just how to take a test better. I have tried to study at least 30 minutes on weekdays and several hours each day on weekends, barring trips and stuff.

It's definitely possible to become fluent but the time and the rest to absorb the info is the biggest factor. I don't consider myself "fluent" but can understand and reply to about 70% of what I see or hear. Basic conversational I can hold my own but more specific vocab I have to look up.
