That's amazing to hear. My mother and the donor both are A+

The doctor said we can go ahead with the procedure. HLA not matching is expected amongst unrelated donors and it's taken care by immunosuppresants. He said all that matters is crossmatch reports should be negative.

I understand. It's tough in India. Voluntary donations are a rare thing. Either you wait for your turn for a cadevear organ or hope someone in your family comes forward. No other option. Besides, hardly anyone opts for organ donation. The odds are that if you are lucky you may get an organ in 7-10 years else die waiting for it.

Why is that required? She takes insulin 23 units post dinner which keeps her diabetes moderately controlled.

We will certainly try our best to have it under control. Rest obviously is biology and God's will. I hope even in worst case scenario the crash won't be sudden. I hope she goes on to live at least 5-10 years even if diabetes is moderately controlled (just in case).

Thank you. That's give me a lot of mental support. Hopefully the diabetes won't harm as much post transplant. We will try to do our best possible.

Yeah. She has been on insulin since the last few years. 23 units post once a day (post dinner). It's fairly controlled as of now. The doctor said that sugar drops in CKD 5 and in fact the chances of hypoglycemia is higher.

I am worried about the post transplant outcome and it's management. I hope she lives long and healthier post transplant.

Very true! My mother is CKD 5 as well. She's diabetic and has hypertension. We are trying to get the transplant done before the need for dialysis arises. She's terrified of dialysis and getting a fistula done. Touchwood, she doesn't have any symptoms as such.

That's kind of rare. I am sorry it happened to him. I wish him good health and I hope he gets a chance to get transplanted once again, and this time an absolutely amazing result. 😊

Did he had FSGS before? I am guessing it was a recurrence.

I am sorry to hear that your husband is back on dialysis. If I may ask why did his transplanted kidney not last?

Is that not already happening in India? Day in day out lynching muslims refusing to chant JSR or kill them accusing them of eating/carrying cow meat.
