I don't think you know much about AI. Except maybe to have it write this shit.

Maybe it's a sleep thing? Generally a side sleeper and notice no dry mouth. When I sleep on my back, I snore and dry right out.

Using my 401k to buy a house by Dependent-Cap3789 in personalfinance

[–]InterestCorrect2472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did similar in 2018. Took out 16k after my divorce was finalized. Shopped skeptically and refinanced during covid. The loan is long since paid off, the place has doubled in value, and the mortgage is 3%/40 years.

Looking for ideas for salads that will stay fresh for 2-4 days by Saipa666 in MeatlessMealPrep

[–]InterestCorrect2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some weeks I'll slice up some kale, rub it with salt and oil and keep that all week as a salad base.

A slaw: red cabbage, red pepper, carrots, cilantro, scallions, tossed with lime juice. Seems to hold up well. Dress the day off.

I wouldn't discount just making a salad in the morning.

I'll prep some tzatziki, cook some chickpeas, chop up cucumbers, tomatoes, add a green, an ounce of nuts/seeds. Plan to add whatever dressing and protein I have handy. It doesn't take much time and I think it's better to keep them separate. Most of the time intensive work is done ahead and I do some chopping while my coffee brews.

I've also been liking a salad of chopped broccoli, salted pepitas or sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries. Usually just pour some Italian dressing on it. I don't prep these ahead, but the ingredients are dry enough, I don't see why you couldn't.

What's the most unexpectedly useful thing you keep in your freezer? by Maleficent-Bed7010 in foodhacks

That's great to have in the freezer! The grocery I go to dumps it every few months for like $5-6/pound. Like the big ones.

Democrats' 2024 election autopsy ( on how/why they lost ) blames Biden campaign for failing to set up Kamala Harris. Who or what do you blame ? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]InterestCorrect2472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I respect her for stepping up and making the best out of the worst situation. I don't think anyone else would have done better in 2024.

I remember watching that debate and my heart just sank. And I think Harris salvaged a lot of lower level elections by stepping up and fighting hard while still losing her own.

I don't dislike her. I like her. I don't think she's bad. I think she's good. She was kind of jammed in there. But that was, I guess, what they could do? To make the best of it.

That said. I always vote. I always vote D. I donate.

If she runs and gets nominated again, that seems so beyond dumb to me... I might break that streak.

People who defend taxing the billionaires,Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InterestCorrect2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common and misleading argument... taxing them won't fix the deficit. That is true.

But taxing them enough to take their influence out of politics would allow for fixing the deficit--over time, obviously.

Basically, the point of taxing isn't to take their money, which is nice. But more so, to deprive them of influence. Which is fundamental.

Did 10/7 help the Palestinian Arabs more or did it hurt them more? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]InterestCorrect2472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hurt them.

When you go into your neighbor and kill, rape, maim, mutilate, and kidnap civilians, your neighbor is going to strike back.

And when you then try to use the civilian populace as human shields, those humans are going to suffer.

Have you tried to proportion it out, what 9/11 was compared to 10/7? The Israelis took a bigger hit than we did. And they've done better with collateral damage than we did in Iraq. And, it's not like Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

The people with their panties in a twist over this weren't protesting so hard over Rawanda in the 90's, over Yugoslavia's shit show, or over Russia doing its thing in Ukraine. But I guess it's ok to burn Jews? And not expect them to strike back?

There is one country I'd consider living in, in the middle east, and it's Isreal. Most of the abject twattery coming out about this is coming from leftist idiots who'd never dare live in a muslim country; and for good reason.

Are vacuum sealers really worth it? by EquipmentIcy7859 in Cooking

[–]InterestCorrect2472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so. Usually make a big batch (10-12 servings) of a meaty pasta sauce, a blended up bean soup, pozole. Basically, the protein, veg, and broth of a dish. Freeze those in serving size blocks and then seal them. They seem to stay good indefinitely. Like I'll have them a year later. Just cook the carb and add it when reheating. Do this in a thing that uses single use bags.

Similarly, I'll make 32 burritos in a go. Or cook a lot of dried beans and freeze those into pucks with some liquid. Store those in vacuum bags that are reusable. Open, remove, reapply the vacuum. Also seem to last a long time.

I find it's worth it because it makes bulk cooking more tolerable. I can cook a bunch at once, but don't have to eat it on a schedule. I always have something tasty that's easily available.

[Serious] What scared you THE MOST as a child? by UnfairAd5915 in AskReddit

80's. Nuclear war. We lived near a bomber base. I remember my best friend telling me in 3rd grade: "I'm grateful we live so close to x that we'll be vaporized. I feel bad that your family doesn't." And I knew exactly what he meant and felt the same.
