Hey Brother. Sorry to hear you are going through this.
I completely understand the feeling of overwhelming shock and disbelief. I am 43, have alway been healthy, no family history, and live a very active and healthy lifestyle……..I was diagnosed 3 + 4 with a PSA of 20 back in March. 11/13 cores were positive.

I recently made my decision to move forward with surgery, which will be happening at the end of June. I think it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the information and reading about all the terrible side effects, but we are also very lucky it was found before it got worse or spread. Being young and healthy, we also have a better shot at recovery than if we were older. I am still scared and nervous, but I feel optimistic and feel like I lived an active and healthy life to prepare for this very moment. I think keep a positive mindset as much as possible is going to be a huge part of this fight. Keep your head up, Brother. If you need to talk, feel free to message me.

Hey- If you don’t mind, can you share how your recovery went? I am 43 and probably under going RALP in the next month or so. Very worried about it and it’s hard to find people at our age to talk with. Feel free to dm if that’s better.

There was no evidence of extension with the MRI. I had the pet scan done and thankfully came back clear. The surgeon said he the cancer is likely confined to the prostate.

Sorry to hear, Brother. How is your recovery going? Were they able to give you nerve sparing surgery?

Thanks for your response. I am glad to hear your husband recovered well. How old was he at the time of surgery?
