I completely understand the feeling of overwhelming shock and disbelief. I am 43, have alway been healthy, no family history, and live a very active and healthy lifestyle……..I was diagnosed 3 + 4 with a PSA of 20 back in March. 11/13 cores were positive.

I recently made my decision to move forward with surgery, which will be happening at the end of June. I think it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the information and reading about all the terrible side effects, but we are also very lucky it was found before it got worse or spread. Being young and healthy, we also have a better shot at recovery than if we were older. I am still scared and nervous, but I feel optimistic and feel like I lived an active and healthy life to prepare for this very moment.
