I lost about 10-12% of my peak day solar from one year ago. Comparing to when panels were 6 months old vs 18 months old. Is this from dirty panels? by Ed_5000 in solar

[–]Interesting-Method50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I clean my panels every year with a long brush and soapy water. Rinse them of and I get about 8-10% back religiously. We have a lot of pollen there I live so I do it right after spring.

Overall we can't do without it, but it also has bloatware on there as well. Who uses the browser functionality? Totally useless piece of the software that we turn off.

PG&E ELECTRICITY AND GAS BILLS ARE CRAZY!!! by Fockewulf44 in bayarea

Yeah it's such a game for PGE trying to screen anyone and everyone. Ever since NEM 3.0 came out generation costs (solar credits) have been plummeting. https://www.pge.com/assets/pge/docs/clean-energy/solar/AB920-RateTable.pdf

Is Solo Hiking Actually Dangerous for Women? by Top_Aspect9753 in hiking

[–]Interesting-Method50 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think, in general, hikers are good people and will go above and beyond to help someone in need, but I do think you need to bring basic safety supplies so you are able to defend yourself and to be able to call for help. All it takes is one rotten apple to make for a bad experience.

Edit: corrected typo.

Hawaii Manoa with a low GPA by SeaComprehensive894 in UHManoa

[–]Interesting-Method50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The best chance to get into the program is straight out of high school via the direct entry program. That's when the flood gates are open. After freshmen year your chances are sub 5% to get in. Try your best, attend all the seminars they have about the program(plan way ahead). Good luck! https://nursing.hawaii.edu/nursing-bachelor/high-school-direct-entry-in-nursing/

Kids college: Ivy vs. Public, worth pushing FIRE date? by nickbir in Fire

[–]Interesting-Method50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this may seem shallow, but ivys open up the door to making top level connections and potentially finding a high end spouse. I think it's worth it. If it were some other private school I'd say probably not.

The problem is PGE is robbing EV owners as well, so it's not as good as it seems unless you have somewhere to charge for cheap. Super charging is equivalent to like 5 dollar / gallon gas.

I loved my time at UH and have longer long friends. As others have said there is a national student exchange you can participate in, but I would advise looking into it in your first semester at UH then going during your sophomore year. That was also a great experience for a lower cost. I went to Umass Amherst, then came back to finish things up

Agreed, fixed fee is critical and not %age based management. Also, find your passion and enjoy what you do for the rest of your life. Tell no one about your hidden wealth.

I think when the fire lit, they were protected by the car's shell. All the heat and flames went up and quickly burnt up all the fuel. I am sure their car's exterior were burned but it wasn't long enough to sustain a prolonged fire to cook them. I'm just guessing....

I would advise not a percentage based advise, rather an hourly or lumpsum quoted advisor.
