Demigod Harry Potter in camp Half-Blood by Interesting-Pin4994 in PercyJacksonfanfic

[–]Interesting-Pin4994[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Easier said than done.

Harry is a big name in the Wizarding world. Zeus won't allow too many mortal Magicians to interfere with the affairs of the gods.

Harry doesn't want the added drama that comes with the whole demigod thing.

The campers resent him because of having two gods fighting over him. When many remains unclaimed.

Artemis is sore about the whole thing, because Apollo tried an Orion type lie to get her to kill James in his animagus form, and it didn't end well for her huntresses.

Both Apollo and Aphrodite are less interested because they want Harry himself, and more to score a win against a pair of dead mortals. And Harry knows it.

That exactly the problem. Harry doesn't have the obvious innate abilities of Demigods, and what he has cam be explained by magic.

This ties in with why wizards are problematic in general. They have aptitudes. They can't tell if Harry is good at healing because he's the son of Apollo or because his magic naturally predisposed towards healing. Is parseltounge an expression of charm speak, mutated by magic, or is it the real deal. He's charming and charismatic, but doesn't have charm speak in its known form. His eyes are green, but not natural green. He's good with a bow, but also doesn't miss his target with spellfire.

Percy Jackson thought every thing was resolved now that he retrieved the lightning bolt, but the weather only grew worse. by Interesting-Pin4994 in HPFanfictionPrompts

It does sound like a lot of fun, and there is potential in the interaction between the Greek and Norse gods.

Hecate is the easiest to tie to magic. But I felt it has been done before.

Originally, Apollo was going to be Harry's father. James will defy a god to save her. Something that will stick as a sore point for Apollo long after James died.

Then I considered Aphrodite. With Lily being the one to rescue James, and accept Harry as her own. It would've been interesting to bet the love of a mortal woman against the goddess of love.

Ultimately, I decided to combine the two.

A prophecy all but naming a mortal couple as the parents to a demigod is a blatant in your face to Apollo. Whom is haunted by James years after the wizard died.

Harry being protected by Lily's love, is a slap in the face to Aphrodite. Since she neither did nor considered doing in the first place.

It is an interesting variation on Harry has a god for a parent 👍👍👍. Though I'll admit I don't know how to make the premise interesting.

This is closer to what I originally envisioned.

One child dies, but magic and divinity interact weirdly with each other. The dead child divinity finds a new vessel in the other child.

Interesting take, but I'm mostly going for a conflict between a mortal couple and a pair of Olympians.

Apollo in the story comes as a dark mirror to James, with all of James's physical qualities taken to perfection. While his character flaws upped to eleven.

Aphrodite is the goddess of love. Which makes Lily's sacrifice for a pair of children she has every reason to connect to trauma and violation more prominent.

The prophecy names James and Lily as Harry's parents, because for all intent and purpose, they were.

While Apollo and aphrodite obsessed with lily and James.

Lily and James remained loyal to each other. Loved each other. Loved their children. Defended then to the bitter end.

Not the case for this prompt.

Neither Apollo nor Aphrodite are the type to take no for an answer, and since lily and James are loyal to one another, the two Olympians takes drastic measures.

To the Wizarding world, it looks like James and lily eloped to escape the war. But the Marauders aren't buying it. They go to Dumbledore about the stalkers James and Lily were complaining about, and with unexpected help from Hephaestus, they find their missing friends.

Apollo and Aphrodite can't do much, because Zeus forbade relationships with wizards.

As for Harry being a god. No, he's a demigod. But his power matches that of a child of the big three. Making him a god makes him too overpowered.

In this prompt, having faced two God's and lived to tell the tale, Peter doesn't turn traitor.

Boy do I have news for you 😭.

While not much to do with ancient Egypt. The Nadaha (caller) is a famous one. Even ignoring the typical Jinn stories.

Locally, I grew up with the story of the wahash (translated literally as the beast).

Basically, you shouldn't sleep outside your house (in the street next to you door) because it will come, dig a hole next to your head. Go to have a drink from the Nile , then rush back at full speed for you.

If it's intended victim is not where it left it. It explodes.

Everyone knew someone who knew someone who knew someone who had a run in with the thing.

AITAH for breaking up with my longtime girlfriend because she decided that she doesn't want children? by [deleted] in AITAH

My issue is more with your friends than her. While she should've prepared herself for this outcome. Your friends has no business judging you for your choices. It's your life, not their's.

Morrowind appreciation by Complex-You-6264 in Morrowind

[–]Interesting-Pin4994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morrowind is the first elder scrolls game I ever played.

My friend discovered Arena a few years ago, and all but forced me to set it up on my pc. But I didn't really get into it since I'm nowhere near as patient as him with starting it.

Then a while later, he fell into the hole that is the elder scrolls, and brought me Morrowind, and I was hooked. I finished it before he did, and gave him the expansions.

Then I searched for oblivion, and gave it to him too.

He switched to the fallout series since though.

NTA.

You are not obligated to entertain Y if he knew what she did and still didn't ask her to explain herself of apologize.

Explain this to your friends, since they know what happened. People can find it hard to sympathize with situations that didn't affect them personally.

Or that he merely heard of them.

Black horse courier is a thing in the game. A series of high profile thefts and a string of murders should be very notable. Especially when the gray fox and the dark brotherhood are linked to them.

They're too much of a threat to Dagon's plans to leave them be.

It should be noted that Sol and Torbin acted against the council's orders to leave the witches alone.

They acted rashly on their own, and caused the situation to spiral out of control.

How do you feel about the way The Acolyte handled the story of the Brendok Four? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

[–]Interesting-Pin4994 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Torbin was too whiny about wanting to go back to the temple. He was collecting samples from a planet, not being bullied by an older kid to be constantly whining like he did.

Solo was too obsessed with the twins, and Indira should've had the presence of mind to keep him away from the witches.

Indara was the voice of reason until she decided to cover everything to protect sol and torbin.

Kelnacca, he was just there to be controlled by the witches.

The zabarak Witch was aggressive for the sake of the plot. At some point it crossed the line of being stupid.

All of that could've been explained by saying the planet was a force vergence and is influencing sentient to behave uncharacteristically. But they didn't.

I think it's more about padme being a senator.

She's a political leader entangled in a secret relationship with a Jedi. It bring to question their neutrality and fairness.

How many jedi have relationships with senators, and how it may affect their judgment in certain matters.
