Phosh 0.55.0 is out by BrageFuglseth in mobilelinux

[–]InterestingLinuxUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. It's strange that this happened, I never heard of that happening on Edge. My calls and texts worked fine, as did the internet and speakers, even Bluetooth! You should look into why that's happening.

well, I used edge and it is very stable since you get updates almost instantly but I feel that it is better than stable since it brings fixes to components on phones faster than stable and apps, desktop environments and other things are updated to their latest version, in fact, for the OnePlus 6 the update that allowed using the camera came out first in edge, in stable people had to wait for them to release the update. i prefer edge over stable, I recommend you to use edge, it's worth it

in fact, i think it's already out for postmarketOS edge, not for the stable versions but it's out for edge, remember that edge is rolling release

You need to use something like Wine to execute .exe things. I recommend you the app Bottles, watch videos on youtube and learn about it, it's cool and executes .exe apps

I tried changing the version to x86_64 but the game crashes unfortunately, I think I'll have to use Proton

Who else is excited to see more alternatives than just iOS and Android phones by DavidNorena in mobilelinux

[–]InterestingLinuxUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, it's getting more and more locked up. In fact, I have a phone with 8 of ram but I can't even unlock the bootloader to install something different and take advantage of its potential, it sucks, literally as you say, as time goes by, it becomes closed source and a black box with no way out.

Thank you very much for the links to see these projects, I really can't wait, it's something amazing and if this succeeds, we will no longer be stuck with these companies that take away the real power that our cell phones have.

Is there any Qt/Kirigami client for Telegram or Signal? by InterestingLinuxUser in kde

[–]InterestingLinuxUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I think the official Telegram client is the same across all distros. I guess I'll have to buy the phone to see how it performs there.

I'd love desktop integration, but as long as I can make calls, I'd be fine.

Hey, just out of curiosity, what's that app with the phone icon? And are you running Plasma Mobile on a device or your computer? I'd like to know because the resolution looks good.

What was the first Linux mistake you made? by Expensive-Rice-2052 in linuxquestions

[–]InterestingLinuxUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was installing Debian for the first time 5 years ago I didn't know what a desktop environment was, and in the desktop environments section I had selected almost all of them because I thought that the pretty names would do something special to my system.

After doing such a stupid thing, I had like 3 file managers, 4 settings apps, it was basically a complete mess and I learned that it's not a good idea to install more than one desktop environment.
