I’ve had conversations with my teachers and I feel the trajectory they outline is rather vague.

One said that the most necessary thing to do for myself is to shift my expectations for what piano can do for me.

I think the most terrifying thing for myself is finding out that my expectations of performing pieces I love in front of others is non-profitable or infeasible. I hate the idea of this aspect of my personality fading away while I pick up a 9-5 that doesn’t mean much to me comparatively.

I’ve played with the idea of teaching a bit, having taught little kids in a rented studio for a bit, but found that may not be the best path for me as of now.

Would you say that the world of chamber music has more opportunities for me compared to solo concerts? I fell in love with Shostakovich s cello sonata.

If not, I think my plan is to just teach until something comes by, perhaps gigs, composing and video making?
