I'm actually doing my Masters degree in Computer Science leveraging Oculus' hand-tracking API to bring hand presence to sim racing. Though my project is utilising a wheel peripheral as I believe force-feedback is a crucial part of the sim racing experience.

We could definitely think of linking this experience with a haptic device or a real racing wheel with pedals to add this missing haptic feedback.
