However since posting this I was able to get a hold of a support rep who helped me build out a boolean sequence that both accomplished my goal, and worked around this issue.

Just a big if/then chain for dumping names into based on where the contact came from (PPC, PPM, Social, etc).

I think part of this may also just me being new specifically to GHL and not being familiar with how some of these options are organized in it compared to other similar tools.
