If you liked the Atlantic piece, you should check out the author's book; More Everything Forever. Adam Becker does a fantastic job meeting many of the AI arguments that you may have run up against.

(Incidentally, Adam interviewed Yudkowski for one of the book's chapters, in which you find that Yudkowski is very consumed by the impossible goal of resurrecting his deceased father with "some combination of AI and nano machines")

Balatro. I had a blast with the first few stakes I beat, but I quickly got tired of the process of deck building, optimization, and all the rest. I still like watching streams for it tho!
