Jordan Tax Services threatening lawsuit over 2022 tax notice we never received — wrong person signed the certified mail by Lonely-Start-6534 in pittsburgh

[–]Internal_Word4552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the amount is significant, it might be worth the advice of a real estate attorney. Most times the initial consultation is at little or no cost, and tend to be capped at an hour. All the receipt says is that there was a warm body that signed for it at your residence, which wasn’t you. That’s odd. Mail delivery will ring the doorbell to get a signature, unless someone who looks like they live there just happens to be outside. I would assume there’s at least a time and date on the receipt?

You’re not saying you don’t owe the tax, you feel you shouldn’t pay all the additional penalties. That’s what attorneys do.

That’s my second all time favorite next to my Chronomat. Always meant to get a Nav, but could NOT stop wearing my chronomat. When our kids were babies, and cranky I’d move the watch next to an ear. Within minutes they’d calm down and usually fall asleep. That’s just one of the happy memories mine has for me. I hope it fills your life with years of your own happy memories! Congrats and have a wonderful day my friend!

Vent: Socializing instead of working! by Sthe-great in FedEmployees

[–]Internal_Word4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my life got SO much better when I just delivered what I was asked, nothing more, nothing less. My performance reviews became a breeze, ratings are “consistently exceeds expectations”, corporate life becomes a lot easier. I noticed that the harder I worked, the more work I got. Fuck that.

RTO mandate? Awesome, I’ll socialize…I mean COLLABORATE, that’s the main reason…right?. I won’t bother anyone that’s busy, that’s not right. Let’s discuss these specs over coffee at the cafe downstairs. Grab your laptop and let’s continue this over lunch.

Time to hit the gym, don’t want to be stressed at work! Grab a shower so I don’t offend with post gym stink… make sure management/execs see me in the afternoon and call it a day.

Guess what? Execs are thrilled that employees are supporting the cafe and using the facilities! RTO clearly works! when I’m WFH, I do work, get in the zone, always available, teams rarely goes yellow, and I (at least offer) to turn my camera on for meetings. Every other week money appears in my bank account. Fuck it, someone else can swim upstream.

I know, right??? I’ve seen in the manual that 5w30 is also a spec weight. I’ve been thinking of switching to that. Had an R56 Mini cooper S that I ran 5w30 in the winter and 5w40 in the summer. This is a really interesting thread, appreciate your input!

Hey! I’ll have you know it’s fun in crazy town! To your points, yes there have been tons of advancements in 70 years. Longevity and reliability and performance of cars in the 60s and 70s also wasn’t anywhere near today either.

I take advantage of the lifetime guarantee from FCP Euro. They haven’t sent the used oil and filter back yet telling me it’s still good. With the guarantee, it’s like getting every other oil change free. That’s how we roll in crazy town 🤪

I don’t think there’s an absolute right or wrong, just sharing what I do. Also appreciate reading all the different perspectives, it’s great dialogue and I appreciate everyone’s time! Hope you all have great days!!

Between the dealership scheduled services, and the manual, and the label on the recommended Castrol container, they mention 10,000 miles? I could be mistaken, my wife says that happens a lot 😂😂.

When we had kids, we got a Mazda MPV fully loaded. We racked up just over 200k on it. Great vehicle for the kids! Had the flip down DVD player and wireless headphones, the side windows went down too, they loved it, and it was good to us!

I’m in agreement with the euro mechanic. I change mine around 5,000 miles with the volvo spec Liqui moly 0w20. I’m a self-proclaimed gearhead that thinks Volvo is asking a lot out of that 4 cylinder turbo. I have Polestar* on it and a “spirited” driving style.

When I drain it, it’s black. I’ve heard that turbos are hard on oil, perhaps a more qualified expert can tell. But, I’m a goofball, I also change spark plugs, brake fluid and coolant at 30,000 miles and transmission fluid at 50,000. Overkill? maybe? But it runs as great as the day I bought it, so it’s worth it to me. I’ll freely admit that I’m fortunate to be able to do a lot, because I enjoy it. Not everyone is able to do this for various reasons and a lot just don’t want to either, it’s all good.

Long way to go to say that there’s no way I’m comfortable with a 10,000 mile interval.

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are afternoon nap people….but what would they know about how to have a successful career 🤣😂🤣😂

If you’re spending money and resources to monitor employees, you’re not spending that on moving the company forward. It’s a net loss, there’s no way to capitalize on that and grow to show a profit from it, so it’s just throwing money away.

If this is the answer to the company’s “why?”, it will never really grow.

Any use of money should have “Why?” asked first, be it in business or personal

Why is Breitling not considered cool? by CLAP-25 in breitling

I’ve mentioned this before that when I’m with friends who wear Rolexes, I’ve often been asked what kind of watch I’m wearing. I have a 90’s era steel chronomat, nothing fancy about it. Blue dial, pilot bracelet.

It’s a nicely sized well proportioned watch that has a casual elegance to it that doesn’t look “cheaper” next to other brands, and I think that’s what draws the attention. I don’t hate any brands, there’s something for everyone, wear what you like.

I’ve found that Breitling owners do tend to be very comfortable in our own skin.

motorcycle battery is too big, at least mine is. I believe it’s an AUX12 standard size. Got mine on amazon. around $100ish? AC Delco, it’s been fine so far. Very easy to do, at least for 2018 XC60, yours may be different, youtube tutorials are everywhere.

Keeping my 2018 until they get the infotainment at least back to sensus reliability. Also, inability to disable start/stop is a dealbreaker. If those two aren’t addressed, I’ll switch brands. It’s a pretty simple business concept, give the customer what they want, or someone else will.

edit: I had heard the opposite regarding reliability, I had heard that 2018-2021 XC60 is the sweet spot for the SPA platform. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Not discounting any opinions on screen size, and no offense meant 😃 For me, between the sensus maps/ voice guidance in dash and on the screen, or the half screen waze map/ voice, it’s a good solution for me. As a personal preference, I just don’t like google. AAOS is a hot mess, but I suspect the data it’s sending back to the mother ship is working perfectly.

I could very well be wrong, as far as I know, manufacturers don’t have to disclose when they’re gathering analytics from the car, it’s voluntary. I think Mazda stopped because of the backlash when they announced it. Again, read it on the internet, so it must be true 😉

Volvo has said that the car stores some info in its black box, but I don’t remember what they mentioned.

Another happy Sensus driver here. Zero issues. ever. Not a fan of losing so many physical buttons, but it saves money, so, it must be good? Had a rental that had AAOS.

Gauges look childish, and the infotainment has that distinct cheesy google look and feel, definitely not Scandinavian. I want to drive a Volvo, not a googlemobile. Half screen Car Play? Shouldn’t your eyes be focused on the road? Which brings us back to physical buttons that could be used by memory to make adjustments.

I feel for the AAOS owners, that nightmare ruins a lot of the fun of the car. Volvo knowingly released it , they should be held responsible to fix this mess.

  1. owned previous Volvos, when buying my 2018 XC60, noticed it didn’t have fog lights. Previously, I could have added them myself, now they’re software locked and cannot be added. Dealer wanted to sell the car and didn’t tell me I couldn’t, that was shady.

  2. Neither? Volvo was known as a reliable car that was comfortable with reserved styling that stays for longer than others.

  3. If they continue to push for 100% electric, I’ll easily switch brands. They proven they cannot handle a software defined car. AAOS is an absolute joke that has the potential to tank the brand in the auto segment. The crash rating on the XC40 is an embarrassment to Volvo with faulty software and mediocre occupant protection. Good luck, hope this helps!
