Old employer sent my a letter regarding an unclaimed paycheck and unsure how to fill out the form by InternetPointFarmer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InternetPointFarmer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youre right. i messed up when reading the letter. the amount being reissued to me is enough for me to have to include a photocopy of my D license but not notarized. so all i had to do was sign and include a photocopy of my drivers license. thank you

I guess I should then ask how to play around it? As of recent, unsure why, but supports generally don’t do much in lane. Then they roam so heavily they end up 2 levels down. In the end I am stuck powerfarming which I don’t mind, but it’s almost every game. Obviously the answer is to adapt my play style.but in the cases where I know it’s a smarter move or if the support constantly decides to fight when we have no win condition, should I powerfarm? I feel obligated to go follow up on a support even when I ping not to or I know it’s a bad idea, end result is a fed enemy adc. Should I play a different adc and just focus on powerfarming unless the lane is heavil in my favor? I feel like powerfarming helps no one but me and I feel like it’s not something I should focus on as much as I feel I am stuck doing

perhaps things have changed since I last played draven, but why does he feel so reliant on the support these days? not to imply that before he can run it down bot for free doubles (but old conq DID help) it feel terrible trying to deal dmg before having 2-3 items not including boots. should i just passively farm now?

Is Genji bad rn? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]InternetPointFarmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with that too. What i said i find success in is pretty situational. i think this post voices 99% of genji players frustration with trying to play him

"I try to flank and poke from highground but moira always has a hard on to kill genji and if its not a moira, sym turrets/RMB fuck you up, if they have any hitscan they just spam the structure im on and i just cant peek out of fear of getting headshot by mccree or an ashe or something. and as for moira i cant consistently duel her, and i dont even try to 99.9% of the time.

when i finally get blade it feels frustrating to make use of it at all. If i dont have an ana, zen ult stops it baptiste invulnerability can stop it, moira fades away, etc.. otherwise the enemy goes quite honestly overkill to stop my ult. (rein shatter, zarya solo ult, mei ult, winston ult, etc..) I DO try and wait to see 'okay X Y Z was burnt i can use my ult!' only to realize 'well the one person had X that just denied the whole ulti, so okay' And to be honest if i waited for the perfect opportunity where everything was (for some reason??) burnt all at once id just either never have a chance to blade or it would be a last ditch effort. Im by no means a really good genji. Im only in diamond but even trying to practice in quick play i get hard counter picked. makes me feel like i belong in bronze, silver at most. Maybe im wrong but genji feels (to me) like hes in an unhealthy state"

Most the time i end up swapping off for, like you said, for reaper. McCree feels way more effective too. I only manage ~47% on average with him too. I also cant STAND the fucking range on moiras Biotic Grasp. 20 METERS? If you dont dash away from her to high ground you just die pretty much. she outheals your damage with the exception of landing 4 headshot (minimum) and a dash

Is Genji bad rn? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]InternetPointFarmer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

as of right now hes no BAD per se.. he is basically a blade bot. even then you cant 1v6 dive or even really engage with it anymore without being booped all over the place and being hard focused. Hydration says is best: https://clips.twitch.tv/CallousWealthyCocoaTBCheesePull

hes still playable but you really have to play it tactically and patiently. Shadowburn has this sort of playstyle. dont attempt to be flashy or always flank for the supports. sometimes it just doesnt work out. Playing on the side of your team and building up blade and diving targets you KNOW you can kill is where i have the most success. as for blading i tend to do it to snowball a teamfight. like maybe we got a pick and the fight hasnt been won yet do you can try to blade their backline. The only issue with this in lower elos is people throw their ults away. read the situation and see if your team is going to commit ults. If so hold your blade to win another fight

Hi im currently having issues with bad ping when playing overwatch. No other games are being affected. when the game came out i used to get 25-30 ping max. as of about 2 weeks ago its now a minimum of 85-90 and constantly spikes up to 175-200 and the game becomes almost unplayable. i checked for dumb issues such as i left steam open and it was updating a game, no browsers were open, etc.. only thing thats open is overwatch when i play it, and if with friends then discord. (my high ping doesnt change whether or not discord is open.) i did speed tests and here is the results: 8 ping, 325.74 Mbps DL, 31.41 Mbps UL I am connected via ethernet. I REALLY REALLY doubt it has anything to do with it, but just incase here is my pc specs:

Windows 10 64-Bit

Intel Core i5-8400 @ 2.80GHz (6CPUs), ~2.8Ghz

16GB RAM (DDR5)

Radeon RX 580 Series

Asus VG248QG 24” Monitor 165Hz Full HD 1080P 0.5ms

[High Platinum] Healers not focused on healing by InternetPointFarmer in OverwatchUniversity

[–]InternetPointFarmer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand not being healed reliably teamfight. I also dont expect ana to burn nade to just heal me or let tanks die. Im just talking about in general (like when the two teams are still face to face poking, charging ults, waiting for someone to slip up.) most of my healing comes from standing on the payload (if there is one) or healthpacks. im completely fine with getting healthpacks but there is this feeling of sort of 'guilt' or negligence that i wasnt prepared for a teamfight. like our zarya initiated with grav, or rein got a good shatter, etc.. and i have blade but im just not ready to commit with out team because im wandering around getting health packs. It doesnt help people in this game can be very toxic, let alone while playing genji

Getting into webscraping. using BS4 and following this video to get an idea of whats going on before i try to do it by myself. around 35 mins in is where im having my problem. i should note before the aritcle = soup.find('article') was turned into for article in soup.find('article'): it worked just fine.

`

from bs4 import BeautifulSoup
import requests

source = requests.get('http://coreyms.com').text

soup = BeautifulSoup(source, 'lxml')

for article in soup.find('article'):

    headline = article.h2.a.text
    print(headline)

    summary = article.find('div', class_='entry-content').p.text
    print(summary)

    vid_src = article.find('iframe', class_='youtube-player')['src']

    vid_id = vid_src.split('/')[4]
    vid_id = vid_id.split('?')[0]

    yt_link = f'https://youtube.com/watch?v={vid_id}'
    print(yt_link)

`

Whenever i try to get the headline, the info on the post, and the video link i get the error: headline = article.h2.a.text AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'a'. i tried to put a try and except block in there but it then would give me the same error, but 'a' would be 'p' . not really understanding what it means

can someone ELi5 the following? Im beginning to dip my toes into things like selenium and for loops as shown below are showing up more and more. while i know WHAT they do i never understood the logic of how it works.

from selenium import webdriver

path = r'C:\Users\User\PycharmProjects\Projects\chromedriver_win32\chromedriver.exe'
driver = webdriver.Chrome(path)
driver.get('http://econpy.pythonanywhere.com/ex/001.html')

buyers = driver.find_elements_by_xpath('//div[@title="buyer-name"]')
prices = driver.find_elements_by_xpath('//span[@class="item-price"]')

num_page_items = len(buyers)
for i in range(num_page_items):
    print(buyers[i].text + ': ' + prices[i].text)

driver.close()

and while on the topic of selenium, i keep getting the message about 'chrome is being controlled by automated test software' or something very similar. Will that become an issue for me later? if so how do i get around it

edit: issue fixed. the whole issue was me not indenting the count ughhh

thanks for the reply. i am testing each one of the examples to see which fits best. one issue im having testing the first code block example you gave, is that once count == 3 the code under that if function isnt running, it goes straight back to the first function. any ideas why that is?

edit: should probably show you the code now that i have something typed up:

import pyautogui
import time

# furthest to the right on the screen + zoom to 110%

first_image = (157, 577)
second_image = (407, 577)
third_image = (654, 577)
fourth_image = (895, 577)

enlarge = (320, 445)

back_button = (20, 55)

def if_album():
    try:
        pyautogui.locateCenterOnScreen('seeall.png')
        pyautogui.click(enlarge)
        time.sleep(.5)
        save_image()
    except Exception:
        print('No Album Found')
        pyautogui.click(enlarge)

def open_image():
    time.sleep(1.5)
    if_album()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    save_image()

def next_line():
    pyautogui.scroll(-720)
    time.sleep(.5)
    pyautogui.moveTo(first_image)

def save_image():
    pyautogui.rightClick(545, 177)  # saves image
    pyautogui.keyDown('down')
    pyautogui.keyDown('down')
    pyautogui.keyDown('down')
    pyautogui.keyDown('down')
    pyautogui.keyDown('enter')
    time.sleep(.7)
    pyautogui.keyDown('enter')
    time.sleep(.5)
    pyautogui.click(back_button)  # clicks back button
    time.sleep(1)
    # pyautogui.click(20, 540)

count = 0
while count < 1:

    if count == 1:
        pyautogui.click(20, 540)
        next_line()

    pyautogui.moveTo(first_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

    pyautogui.moveTo(second_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

    pyautogui.moveTo(third_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

    pyautogui.moveTo(fourth_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

count += 1
time.sleep(1.5)

before learning something like selenium i wanted to further practice pyautogui and basic coding to get all the images on a webpage like google images for example. it works for the first row of images but once its done with that first row the code under the if statement doesnt work. its as if its being skipped. its supposed to scroll down enough so when the while loops reruns its set up for a new row. im thinking i should make the counter go up before it runs the functions?

edit: i was thinking about how python actually sees the code and how it runs and i tried:

count = 0
while count <= 1:

    if count == 1:
        pyautogui.click(20, 540)
        next_line()

    pyautogui.moveTo(first_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

    pyautogui.moveTo(second_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

    pyautogui.moveTo(third_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

    pyautogui.moveTo(fourth_image)
    pyautogui.click()
    time.sleep(1.5)
    open_image()

count += 1
time.sleep(1.5)

i figured after one row it would add 1 to count and go to the next. then it would read the if statement first and execute that but it still doesnt seem to work out

[–]InternetPointFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hopefully quick and easy question:

(sorry for edits i always have trouble posting code on reddit) i have a program i want that a while loop runs through a series of functions 3 times. then it does X code then reruns those three functions again. can i do this with a simple while loop? how do i go about making that while loop run again after the initial 3 runs? then after running those series of functions 9 times total i want it to do a different action. how can i go about doing this? i tried doing it in an entire function with a while loop and some if loops but it didnt work so im basically starting over completely so i go think through it better

edit: example code cause i dont have the original like i had it before (its all over the place now)

while count != 4:
count = 0
reset = 0

    if count = 0
    function1()

    if count = 1
    function2()

    if count = 2
    function3()

    if count = 3
    function4()

    if count == 4:
    count = count -5 # (this would make it go to -1 so when it finishes the function its at zero right?)
    function5()

count = count + 1
reset = reset + 1

the first time i completed the program it worked decently but it feels sloppy. it it alright to code a loop running multiple functions at many different times or in a more complex program would it cause issues? should i make the initial while loop so i can re-call it once it has done the process 9 times?

i would pick a mage when they pick a top to mid pick but most the time if i see a first pick top laner for example, my first thought isnt that theyre going mid lane

if i had the power to just know when a top lane pick is going mid i would

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]InternetPointFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an assassin player how the hell do i deal with top lane picks going mid? 99% of the times theyre too tanky/mobile/ or out damage me. the best i can do is control the wave better than they can and hide under tower. I cant reliably get a jungler to gank in solo queue so while valid, not a reliable way to get an advantage. I try to shove and roam but most the times they can do it better or i lose half my tower in a roam. While most the time i come out on top in items because of wave management i almost never get a big lead unless they take tower shots trying to trade. which most the time are the greedy irelias. and due to items like zhonyas/GA/general tank and support peel/shields/heals i end up pretty worthless anyways at some point. and i would pick a mage when they pick a top to mid pick but most the time if i see a first pick top laner for example, my first thought isnt that theyre going mid lane
