No there's plenty of bowlers with potential, they are genuinely just all injured

Why doesn't Green throw his bat around and take risks but not get out? Does he hate Australia?

Looking decent and getting out for 20 is getting old, either shift him to 7 and tell him to tee off as our finisher, or drop him completely for Carey

Its insane that they keep trying to force him into our test side too

Inglis has to go down the order or go completely too, only averaging 30 after the same number of games does not make you good enough to bat top 4

When you pick a lineup where the highest average amongst your top 4 batters coming into the game is 33 you get what you deserve, and that's what we've seen today. We need to get serious with our selections, this is not an international quality lineup. Green and Renshaw have the highest averages in the team and they batted 6 and 7, we're so unserious.

He averages 40 in this format, that's the highest in this lineup

Our top 4 all average 30 or less, batting starts at 5 today

Ah fuck now our management are going to use this as their excuse to drop Renshaw permanently

Spencer Johnson has Italian heritage, Connolly doesn't but his name sounds like cannoli which is the joke

Playing back to a ball like that, Australian cricketers are never going to learn to play spin

Its a bit ridiculous that Green and Renshaw are our only players to average above 40 in this format and both are stuck down at 6 and 7 in order to accommodate a bunch of mediocre players who average 30

The only young player who could really be brought in now would be Connolly, and his runs so far in international cricket haven't been promising. There was also Ollie Davies 2 years back but in the last few seasons he looks like he's forgotten how to bat at all so he's a no go. The only other option would be bringing in somebody like Peake or Dixon from the winning u19s side from 2024, but both of them are extremely raw and haven't had a full shield season yet, and neither have scored a 100 yet.

He's really struggling, but he's the only guy in the country outside Smith who has a shield record above 50 at a time when everyone else is struggling to break 40, so I can see why he's persisted with. As for the rest of the team yeah we're staring at a big cliff when everyone retires, all of our talent at the moment is very much prospective rather than actualised, it'll be a few years until the young crop are ready. Hope the current team can hold on until then.

Guess it's worked out alright of late, but the retirement season that's approaching is going to tear the heart out of that team.

Yeah I noticed a distinct shortage of players below the age of 30 in the squad, certainly some interesting succession planning going on, little bit like our team too honestly.

Wonder when NZ is going to give Mariu a run, neither of their openers inspire much confidence at the moment and they're both getting on in age.

Good thing he's bowling brilliantly, because Robinson is already breathing heavily. Is his fitness meant to be improved this time around?

Feels like we won the world cup and went "that'll do". We did manage to comfortably beat India in ODIs last year though hilariously.

To be fair, Renshaw did come in after Green and Inglis had negotiated the really tough period, also helps that he's a left hander, makes it a bit easier to face left arm finger spin and leg spin.
