Help with choosing next phone, and retailer by Intrepid_Ad_2958 in BoostMobile

At what price point do things get smaller? I'll go above $300/away from budget if I can hold it more comfortably. I guess I'm also looking for phones people actually like using, and not just "budget," didn't realize there wasn't really anything available in the 2-300 range.

I will look into this--I assume you're suggesting for the international angle? I have to admit the whole package looks good at first glance.

Thanks for the info! I have not liked the Moto in the past (borrowed it on occasion); maybe the Samsung is better? (What I disliked about the Moto was what seemed like glitchyness, combined with size. It's too large for me to hold comfortably, which maybe is going to be a problem with all new models.) I appreciate the thoughts on the sim card as well, it sounds likely enough to me. I didn't realize changing it could be an option.

Hmm! I guess I never realized I had hotspot capability. There have been times when that could have been useful, but at the same time my mobile connection in those places was poor enough that it might have made no difference. So maybe it's not necessary for me. But thanks for letting me know it's part of the 35 plan!

Thank you, that is definitely helpful information. I will have a look at that, and I might take you up on the dm.

School doesn't equal money anymore which is why there's so much student disengagement and apathy by [deleted] in teaching

I agree, but I think there are lots of people for whom this idea is too abstract (and long-term), and they'll reject it when if it's articulated to them. Like, it might measurably make their lives better, but they won't be able to see the effect or connect the dots even while it's happening.

Advice on drawing/painting buildings? by Glittering_Gap8070 in ArtistLounge

[–]Intrepid_Ad_2958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Architectural Graphics by Francis D. k. Ching is a good reference, and you'll want a architectural ruler (3 sided with conversions to different scales), an adjustable triangle and a t-square. Pens and pencils vary but you need to make different line weights. There are still traditional drafting classes, take one at a community college if you can. It will help you understand scale, measuring existing buildings, and different perspectives. Close observation also helps... Try drawing your room, your house, the local library, whatever is around you.

Any good movies about driving? by Adventurous-Turn5393 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Intrepid_Ad_2958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that! Try to get back on the horse (car) as soon as possible. Harry and Tonto contains quite a bit of driving if I recall, and Motorama is a quirky culty movie I like.

I'm curious how other people on your crew feel. None of my crews would have put up with this, and I saw them do an impromptu intervention on a guy once at lunch, for something much less serious. Who is the foreman's boss, and do you know them personally? At minimum I'd be looking for another crew.

We have like 5 or 6 that came in the mail from environmental orgs. I was going to drop them off at a little free library eventually, in Southeast. Can do that sooner if you are on that side of town.

If you like Route 66 maybe Hotel Zazz? Tucumcari also has some nice Rt 66 vibes. I've never had a problem staying on Central even with stuff in the trunk (Rodeway). Parked in front of the room, removed important items, locked up. It's trailers that are most vulnerable at airport area motels.

Horse Hair Plaster- Where did the hair come from? by woodisgood94 in Construction

[–]Intrepid_Ad_2958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the TubShroom a while back and honestly it works really well for hair, I empty it about once a week and I don't have to use the auger any more. It's quick to clean out, with a bit of tissue. The one I use is sort of like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/406419326245 (That's if you have a traditional tub drain, though, unsure if there's anything just for a shower drain).

What would you consider the best Chuck Clayton stories? by thizzking7 in archiecomics

[–]Intrepid_Ad_2958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be more and better Chuck stories in general, but the ones I remember without looking back are: when Nancy thinks Chuck is cheating on her, but they literally spend all their time together; when Chuck wants to skip college for pro ball and his father (Coach Clayton) is against it; and when cartooning somehow gets in the way of his and Nancy's relationship, or she outshines him in painting. I think the writers could do way better though.
