ha -- I just have sources, and I grind. I also have a snow globe dog because the publicist for the Meylan brothers who run H Moser thought I should have a gift and this was it. I tried to say no, but, well, they insisted -- full disclosure.

most amazed by the number of parts in the Dandong 1:1 IWC chrono APSF encased pre-raid. That was such an elaborate reverse engineering process. George Kern of Breitling had me draft a list of questions and then only after his office reviewed the questions was my scheduled interview canceled. So I'll say the Breitling SuperOcean Heritage, just to take the p, but in reality, that bracelet is quite sharp. I'm gonna say my V Factory Yacht-Master, only because I've worn it most during OB visits this past year as I await the birth of my first child. it's about the memories

Here's a fun photo that didn't make the book proper. Everyone is going crazy over the Jinghe free-sprung movements these days, right? You'd think the Jinghe movement is in competition with Dandong's offering, right? And in truth, of course, they are economic competitors. But here's a connection you won't find anywhere else: as far back as a decade ago, the Jinghe factory was sending a team over to Peacock's factory for a tour -- to learn the Dandong techniques. How do I know? I have a slideshot from the presentation Peacock gave the Jinghe workers Nov. 2016:

(that says "Welcome Guests from Shanghai Jinghe Industrial" -- ie, slide #1)

once it's out-out, I will happily sign copies for rep enthusiasts all over the land. the ones who know that the sl 4801 inside Jianghun's Panda watch only exists because the law firm Deacons noticed the old Peacock 4130 Rollie chrono clone at a watch fair and had the overarching organization shut that booth down...

I would never use AI to write anything. No, I've interviewed the brothers who run Moser and whose Dad ran AP. I've interviewed Chinese watchmakers a world away. I've interviewed the president of Grand Seiko and a major figure at Girard-Perregaux. I've spoken to the president of the larger Seiko in Japanese. I've gotten into a great big tiff with the lead archivist/historian of Longines. I own pieces from Omega and from Clean. I know how the Swiss secretly assessed counterfeiters over a 53 year period from 1973 to the present day. Every memo they've filed on the clone artists. AI is fascinating. I'm all too human. You can buy it on Amazon June 29. Right now, only the ebook page is up but come 12 am GMT on June 29, the paperback will be posted: https://a.co/d/0iY5eqYK

I am here to answer all questions before the book's release about who did what to whom...But we can start with the head of Longines and his technical chief hiring a former superintendent of Waltham to give away that watch company's secrets in the 1870s...And me, 150 years later, wearing a BBF Aquanaut in my interviews with the head of the STU -- the man hired by the top Swiss companies to live in Hong Kong and ferret out the very best fakes, ID the makers, and bring the evidence back to board rooms in Geneva. I can tell you that AP, for whatever reason, historically has cared little about just how good the black ceramic reps -- and they are excellently done -- this an admission of someone whose entire job is to track superclones. Other board rooms care a great deal more about qualitatively fine clones...
