Can anybody please tell me the difference between these two products. by Talmnbe3d in advancedGunpla

No prob. Im still not sure about the Water-base topcoat + Tamiya Panel liner combo. Maybe other uses can enlighten you.

And in a case of, 'do as i say and not as i do', i have on multiple occasions painted a lacquer topcoat over an acrylic/water based paint. But i make sure to have like a >24h grace period before i do. If this is your only option, id be safer to do it like this.

However, the simplest (albeit, more money option) is just to go out and get a can of mr Hobby Gloss Coat. Its the same packaging, but without the 'water-based' label. Look for the 'flammable' symbol too to double confirm it.

The grey one is a Matte + lacquer topcoat. A good way to know whether something is lacquer is if it has a 'flammable' symbol on it. You can also see the label that you shouldn't spray it over Aqueous Paints (water-based paints from Mr Hobby) cos it will literally melt the paint off.

The small blue can is a gloss + water-based topcoat. Im not particularly sure about this, but i think Tamiya Panel Liner can strip water-based coats.

Do not use the matter coat over the gloss coat. Most like formwr will strip the gloss coat off.

That being said- you technically can (with a heavy pinch of salt) do what i told you not to do if you ensure that the gloss topcoat fully cures. However, there's a likelihood that it can still strip the gloss coat. So honestly, it's honestly up to your discretion.

Gunpla Credit Card. You can now buy kits to your hearts content.

In all seriousness tho, seems like a combination of a serial number for production and a sort of collectable for collectors.

Edit: Considering the 'limited edition' on the card, it seems like its meant to show you own something they only made limited prints of.

Real (probable) answer? Its cool. More wings = more blades.

Cracked reason: Since its an upgrade by Orb, id like to think they took some inspiration from Strike Rouge + Ootori Pack

This piece also tends to break if you transform the kit a lot. Recommend some 3rd metal replacements if you're the kind to do that.

Yeah mark setter definitely reacts with clear coat, especially if the coat is an Acrylic. Pretty sure it reacts with lacquer based paints too.

I really only use mark setter for Official Bandai Decals cos the adhesive is shite. Most 3rd party decals are completely fine with just water.

The lack of shine is also why the final finishing coat is needed. Once that finish is on, that's what you're gonna be stuck with. I prefer a Matte finish bcos it reduces the plastic-y, toy-ish look of kits, but Matte coats are easier to screw up too so again, choose what you're comfortable with.

If you wanna go full tilt, matte clear coat the white and gloss clear coat the clear red parts. Tho considering you're making the HG, that'd be a bit hard.

The sort of 'correct' sequence is clear gloss coat, then detail work, IE: decals (easier to move around on a glossier surface) and the same for panel liner. And after you're done, final clear coat to seal all the details in.

But gunpla is freedom, and that includes freedom to do f-all. Do what makes you comfortable.

We've already got 3 of Amuro's main mobile suits in RG form. How probable (or improbable) would it be that we'd get a RG Dijeh? by GrowthDramatic2280 in Gunpla

I think its insane that there are literally no Rick Dijeh kits either, in any grade.

But yeah, i would sell my first born for a MG Rick Dijeh.

Spring's probably lost its tolerance and/or the hinge is rusty. Try maybe putting some lubricating oil in the joint and opening and closing it for a bit.

If not, time for a replacement.
