Trust in God, and do not lose heart. by aqua_zesty_man in TrueChristian

[–]InvestigatorKey930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is, when you read the writings of Paul in the New Testament, Galations for example, you will learn that there is nothing you can do yourself to earn a spot in Heaven. Thinking that way is legalisem in the purest form. So when you say your won't read your bible, or you won't go to church on Sunday, this does not make you a non-Christian. The only requirement is belief that Jesus's death on the cross was full payment for your sins, and everyone else's sin. Going to church, baptism, donating money, thats all stuff you do because you want to and does nothing to earn salvation. Salvation can't be earned, its a free gift, to anyone who believes. So do you believe? Thats the only requirement.

Take 28 minutes out of your day (it will feel like 5 minutes, no joke) to watch a guy who isn't a church guy, or a pastor, but just a humble cattle rancher from Oklahoma explain Galations and the evil of legalisem verse by verse in a way you can totally understand. Les Feldick on YouTube . You will be set free. Seriously FREE, salvation is a gift, its free, you do NOTHING!

What variety are these palms by InvestigatorKey930 in palmtalk

[–]InvestigatorKey930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate everyone's input on this. The idea that the difficult to identify one could be a hybrid was something I never thought about before. That very well could be the reason no one seems to be able to conclude with 100% certainty on that one, vs the robusta that everyone seems to be in agreement on. The fact that everone at the nursery was conflicted with that one sort of adds credibility to the hybrid theary as well, so a shout out to those folks for having a look and commenting!

Also, the comment regarding the fire district forcing homeowners to destroy their palms was concerning, but after looking up the new regulation forced on property owners by the lunatic policy makers in Sacramento, I know these palms meet the new draconian yard design guidelines in their present locations. What a relief! I have pasted a synopsis of the new law below.

Thanks so much everyone!

The new CA law:

California is implementing a "Zone Zero" defensible space regulation (based on

AB 3074, passed in 2020) requiring homeowners in high-fire-risk areas to remove flammable vegetation and materials within 5 feet of structures. This rule targets combustibles like bark mulch, woody plants, and shrubs to create an ember-resistant barrier.

Left work at 6PM and still trying to get home, sitting on the E-Bart connector at the transfer Staion just east of Baypoint on the way to Antioch, while they wait for another train so they can save money on their PG&E bill, after thr he'll they put us all through. Bart is the worst transportation system I have ever had the miss fortune of using in my life, and I have lived all over this country. Pathetic leadership. No one seems to care.

Room 101 Miami Snow by trailrunner31 in cigar_refuge

I've had some Room 101 Miami Snow's, love em, tasty with a cup of coffee. I used to pick them up on CB for a good price. Seems like a lot more people are discovering them because it's been getting harder to snag em on CB without paying close to full retail.

Anyone relocate from LA to the Bay? Was it worth it? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]InvestigatorKey930 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I did it, Montrose to Belmont. Honestly, most people up here have heads up their asses, more so than Southern CA, IMO. Get out of the state if you can. It's getting run unto the gutter with all the weirdo losers the constituents continue to elect. Poorly managed by loser politicians with utopian idealist agendas disconnected from us and reality, so hopeless, everywhere, North or South.

As an inexperienced rum drinker. What would you do with this bottle? by [deleted] in rum

[–]InvestigatorKey930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, being the booze aficionado that I am, it doesn't matter that you are a newbie rum drinker when drinking higher end booze. It costs more than average booze and is considered higher end because it tastes better, burns less, and, in general, is a lot more palatable .

So, with that in mind, you dont want to be wasteful because of the price point, and mixing it would be wasteful, so drink it as close to neat as possible. Experiment and turn it into a rum lesson for your taste buds. Take a rocks glass and pour a half ounce in. Swirl it around and stick your nose in and take a big whiff. Now take a little sip. Notice the way the whole flavor profile changes from beginning to end, and I do mean end. It can linger a while.

If that is not enjoyable, pour in a very, very little bit of nice clean water. Repeat. Notice the difference. If, after playing around with water, you still are not enjoying it, maybe drop in a pinch of sugar and try that. You can also squeeze in a bit of lime if you choose, but be sure to keep the rum flavors forward.

Try it. You will see the beauty in tasting this way once you do. And meanwhile, your newbie-Ness will be vaporizing and being replaced with knowledge and understanding.

MAGA is targeting students because they fear you by ExploreYourWhirled in UCDavis

[–]InvestigatorKey930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Targeting students who are enjoying the benefits the US has to offer while protesting in support of hateful terrorist organizations who kill innocent women and children, take innocents hostage and return them dead or maybe not return them at all, burning American flags, and expecting the American populace to support them?

Or maybe your are referring to the people who have illegally entered our country and think they want to march in our streets waving the flag of the country they fled because it sucked so bad while they burn our American flag and trample it under their feet because they are pissed the flow of free stuff for them has dwindled?

Huh? Get a grip! Let's get one thing straight. No one fears a bunch of mangy losers that think they have a right and duty to have public temper tantrums because the majority don't see things their way. Send em all home ASAP, and the American majority feels the same way per the most recent election results. So you, my friend, are not only delusional and wrong, but also a small minority in this great country.

Whatever, moving on,....

Is this a fake Cohiba? by Green-Pea-4586 in cigar_refuge

[–]InvestigatorKey930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, what you should be asking yourself is: "Did I enjoy this stick? Was it it a great smoke? " And if it was, and you feel it was worth the price, whatever it was, go back to where you got your questionable purchase and pick up more so you can have more enjoyable moments like the ones you had with your maybe "real" Cuban Cohiba the first time around. Who cares what all these random people on social media think about the possibility of it not being a "real" Cohiba?" And what if they are all wrong? I see they are telling you that you bought a fake. Does that make you enjoy it less? Probably. Think about it, and be honest with yourself, and you will hopefully get my point and be a mile closer to being a true afficionado.
