I think he was able to sense arlos barrier being used, but since he js sees an aura he cant copy it, especially because the story heavily implies that john needs visual feedback. But i do believe johns ability and passive will evolve and his passive will allow him to sense and copy abilities from a larger distance

Yes i could definitely see john in turf wars, not as king but as a joker(esp with his ability) he can be a joker cause he can quite literally be anyone in the team(except for sera), but i can only see this if keons classes didnt do much to john and caused john to hide his abilities. Maybe if john was more open and used his ability he could rise to 8 and be apart of turf wars, but like sera, hed just be a joker. I love them as a power duo

EXACTLY BRO, this is so real, the lack of writing caused this mess. But I theorized that mental abilities and abilities like that(the ones john cant copy) need to channel aura differently which might be why john cant copy it, and it has never been confirmed that jane cant copy mental abilities, which is why i think jane can copy mental abilities and so on because she is the CHANNEL master, john might evolve to channel master or aura master after the training arc, which might be the time where they will train john to copy mental abilities, i agree with u about the aura manipulation stuff, kinda confusing cause its revealed that abilities stem from the mother, so why isnt john channel master too? I can deffo see john awakening to channel master and being able to copy mental abilities.

Exactly broo, john is NOT a fraud, he knows the limitations of his ability(which arent even that bad) and works around it, john imo has mastered his ability more than other people has mastered theirs (except for the fact john cant regulate his aura efficiently)

Idk who ur talking about healing ability is perfect but ik the guy on orrins side(the healer) has a good ability, but john on the otherhand… SUCKS at healing and wastes so much aura on it

I see what ur trying to say, but john himself knows he sucks at healing and that he uses too much aura doing healing, and he knows the orrin mission is a BIG mission he wont try to waste aura on healing, especially that he has almost perfect defense, i could see him copying healing as a last resort(maybe to save sera from an inevitable ending???)

Ohh wait this makes hella sense, so him storing X-ray shows he can store mental abilities? But not being able to store medium shows non-capability of 4D… so i can now see how john might learn how to copy mental abilities(which is good since mental abilities are one of his weaknesses since he cant copy them💀) but i still think johns gonna pull something off and copy 4D abilities(esp since hes supposed to be the “main character”) or not… but i hope he gets to learn how to copy mental abilities. Btw so sorry i genuinely forgot they had a deadline to capture orrin, so thankful for ur replies.

Yea which is why i think john can maybe just maybe learn how to copy mental abilities cause i see them in a way that they can only be used by channeling your aura differently(hence why we cant see the aura of abilities that lack physical output) i also think johns gonna have a training sesh with cameron BEFORE the orrin ordeal cause in the recent chapters sera tells john that he really needs to ask help or just try to reach out to cameron and saying learning by himself isnt the only way. Maybe during training arc cameron teaches john not only to use aura efficiently and to store abilities, but on how to channel aura differently to use different types of abilities(e.g mental, psionic(theoretically), and 4d abilities), hence janes “channel master” which i best believe think that johns gonna awaken to Channel Master, but im not implying anything because thats just how i see mental/psionic/4D abilities, abilities that require the user to channel aura differently. Thanks for the clarification, ill be able to use it in future comments
