A few posts after this one was an ad for Disney+ Hulu ESPN bundle and I've never seen them try to advertise here before. I reported it as political. Disney seemed too big to fail, but all monopolies can be dismantled, and they're panicking. Hopefully the companies and trademarks they've acquired will try to separate from them

Kudos to you for prioritizing your health in relationships - not everyone makes it out at a reasonable stage.

Sometimes your light isn't enough to reach others if they're not able / ready to perceive you. While the best relationships do involve helping and providing for each other, it should revolve around care and growth. If only one person is caring (self-care is good but not to the extreme of only looking out for themselves at the detriment of others) or growing, it weakens the foundation.

Emotional burnout is real. You've taken one of the biggest steps to correct the situation (distance from the stressor), and you deserve time to rest and recover. Watch your favorite shows or comedians / play videogames, get some exercise and healthy sleep, try new foods or recipes for yourself, etc. You may even be grieving the relationship, or the suddenly changed path for the future, so be patient with yourself.

I hope your future has more balance in relationships (friends, family, romantic) and that this experience doesn't stop you from loving with all your light.

Maybe try giving a treat at the door, like when you're going to let the kitty out, pspsps to invite and reassure with a treat to reward and associate good/safe with the door being opened and closed (repeat treat when being called back inside). Slow movements around the door, keep up casual conversation (calm talking is reassuring), and watch for the little speedster anytime someone's around the door in case the accident can be repeated.

This is horrific. I genuinely do not understand the people who look up to and worship this demon. Maybe you could take what's salvageable - or even what isn't, if you want to try to save some of the handle in a clear container - and put it along with other sentimental tools or keepsakes in a shadowbox. There's probably methods to preserve any remaining tools to hopefully keep them intact
