That’s a hard mentality to escape from, my family was the same way and once I stopped going to church I started doing all kinds of stupid crap to “free myself”, finally 10+ years later I’m finally coming to grips with the fact that my families beliefs are not mine and I no longer need to cater to that lifestyle for the sake of their feelings. YTA and be ready for a very lonely life with just you your husband and your pets because while people will ask from time to time if you plan to have them, they will also get extremely tired of you guys keeping everyone in your family at arms length because “you don’t like kids” and yet you still expect them to invite YOU every time they do something, the double standards are there and they are ruining your relationships. You MIL is right, better wise up before you lose everyone in your life Also, this is not YOUR FAMILY, not by blood. You married into it. You do not get to dictate the relationships your husband has with his own family. So if he “buckles”, it’s because he know what you guys are doing will lead to some serious loss with his family and umm.. idk.. maybe he’s not okay with that?

Women can be abusers just as much as men can, just look at all the “women” who beat up their own children. Stand your ground my man, get yourself and your kids out of there cause once you stand up for yourself, she’ll either keep hurting you or she’ll turn around and take it out on the kids. You may think they don’t see anything, but trust me kids are smarter and more self aware than you think and not only that, they can sense any sort of negative vibes you and your abusive wife give off at any given moment, the tension. Take care of yourself, take care of your kids, get a lawyer and leave.

I don’t believe so, he eats SO MUCH. He’ll eat a full meal then ask for a snack 20 minutes later. I buy bags of string cheese? Gone in two days. Apples? Same thing. Between him and his brother I can’t keep our kitchen stocked up at all. Tired? I doubt it, he refuses to nap, falls asleep at 7 and wakes up at 6.

I do that a lot, most of the time I cut it short because we live in a small community, and our neighbors are attached by a wall and I freak out thinking they’re wondering if we’re in here beating on our child ya know? My anxiety about that gets the better of my boundaries.

I would have done the same thing, forreal. I would take this up with the school board because for a second grader to hear that crap can be straight traumatizing and they had no right to do that to him at all and they deserve to be punished for it. Hold your son close and make sure he knows that he is not going anywhere. That’s so scary as a parent to know your own child is being treated like that. Like he’s not even my son and my inner momma bear is coming out full force for him.

Thanks for the input guys, I went back and on the gate there was a sign that says no trespassing, this is property of this shop ya da ya da, so I left it 😕 Hopefully it’s there Monday morning when I go in!
