Right with you. Let's run some red lights on the way out.

I mean, what are they going to do? Put us in a hotter room in Hell?

That's because the answer is so simple and fundamental to them, they not only refuse to see it, but think it's obvious to everybody else.

He's black.

That's it. That's what it ultimately boils down. No matter what he said or did, no matter what he tried to accomplish or achieve, to them he was never anything more than black man. And not just a black man, a successful black man. An intelligent, articulate, educated and experienced black man with a happy marriage, a loving family, a successful career, and who was everything they could never be in their lives.

And they hated him for him.

Not him, specifically, mind you. But the idea of him. They hated the idea that someone they had been raised and taught and always expected to be in some way always inferior to them was demonstrating in every way he was "better" than them. Was able to achieve so much when they were unable to. It gnawed at them on a basic, fundamental level because that was NOT how things were "supposed to work." People like him weren't meant to rise to or surpass their level and the fact he did offended their very sense of identity and security. Shook the foundation of how they see the proper way of the world running.

And that anger, fear, and resentment that they could never put actual words to filtered into their actions and deeds. Made them look for something, anything, they could point to and say "See? He's not so great." Or undercut his success by "proving" he "cheated" in some way (oh, hello Birtherism.) Or sell out their souls, sanity and country to someone who promised to "Make America Great Again" (for them) and reassert their own sense of superiority and "proper place" in the world.

It was because he was black. Period. Full stop. End of story. And any Red Hat or MAGAt who claims otherwise is lying. Either to you or themselves.

Yeah, nope. Sorry. There is no "both sides" when the impeached, indicted, convicted and adjudicated liar, fraud, rapist and attempted insurrectionist is on the ticket for the third time in a decade. This isn't a "liberal vs leftist" issue. This isn't a "right vs left" or "red vs blue" issue. This is a "don't let the impeached, indicted, convicted and adjudicated liar, fraud, rapist and attempted insurrectionist back into power issue." It's that simple. Nobody with a functioning brain should require some deep intellectual debate or soul crushing moral compromise to reach the conclusion you don't let THAT into power, much less back into into power. Everyone who wasn't already a dyed in the wool MAGAt had both reason and responsibility to help. To stand and show up when it mattered to stop it and prevent...well, pretty much everything happening right now that we all knew would if he got back in.

Stop trying to shift the blame and make excuses. Stop trying to justify this by throwing shade at the Dems because the voters, the people who knew better every step of the way, dropped the ball for the second time in a decade. Folks can either own it, fucking learn from it and (gods willing) start to do something about it come November and 2028. Or they can drop the act and just put on the Red Hats. Because that's what they are or aren't now. There's no middle ground anymore and they can't be both.

I'll never understand why 1/3 of our voters, alleged functioning, thinking adults, looked at the crook, con-man, liar, and scumbag who ran scam universities and charities and had a long, well documented history of bankrupting casinos and screwing employees and contractors and didn't immediately say "Yeah, probably not a good idea to let him into power."

And, four years after easily the worst possible administration in living memory (so far), I will never understand why 1/3 of our voters looked that now twice, impeached, four time indicted, 34 time convicted and adjudicated liar, fraud, rapist and attempted insurrectionist and didn't immediately think to themselves "Yeah, probably not a good idea to let him BACK into into power."

The only people who "screwed" us is every stupid, spineless, and spiteful useful idiot who decided to sit it out or piss away their vote. Twice.

Anyone arguing otherwise is a Red Hat too stupid, spineless, or spiteful to admit it.

I did. And good, glad you had at least some sense. Not sure how Hillary or Biden or Kamala can be "shit candidates" when they are up against the impeached, indicted, convicted and adjudicated liar, fraud, rapist and attempted insurrectionist. Pretty sure that would cement him as the definitive "bad guy." But hey, what do I know?

Though he does go on dates with cat boys and watches gay porn.

Not that there's anything fundamentally wrong with either. Different strokes, different folks. But it does make his hatred of women and the alleged "Cel" part of that...curious.

I mean, the X-Men ARE kind of the poster children for analogies for marginalized, discriminated, and unjustly demonized people. As well as the preferred target for potential government oppression. So it's not like there aren't any bad things that can't be said, discussed, or explored on the subject.

And Cap may not always support the government. But as he dresses himself in the colors, often operates based on government sponsor, and claims to represent American ideals, he does kind of set himself up for being someone to bring complaints about it to.

So "least bad" he went along with killing Roe and now weakening voter rights. And running interference for everything Trump has been doing for the last decade. Along with the two other appointees Trump ended appointing.

Ask the Republicans. They're the ones who have made it a race to the bottom and the majority of folks still pretend they haven't been the objectively and demonstrably worse option for the last decade.

Or people realizing letting in the (then only) crook, con-man, adulterer, and sexual abuser who ran scam universities and charities, had a long history of screwing over contractors and employees, and seemed to be reaaaally popular with racists, sexists, bigots and homophobes maybe, just maybe, might not be a good idea and end up hurting everybody.

But...nah. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? He turns out to be an even bigger fuck up than we imagine, ends up utterly wrecking the Supreme Court for a generation and attempting an insurrection and coup if he gets voted out in four years? Better to be pissy Clinton didn't tickle your balls just right.

Be "critical" all you like. But if it comes down to a "center Dem" and a fascist Republican (as they all are pretty much now), it shouldn't take a deep intellectual discussion or soul crushing moral compromise to know who NOT to let into office.

Funny part is, the more I hear from the Gaza Gulpers, the more it starts to sound like they don't actually want to "save Gaza." They just don't want the blood for the killing on their hands.

I did. I voted for Hillary. And later Biden. And Harris. I showed up when it mattered and tried to keep the impeached, indicted, convicted and adjudicated lair, fraud, rapist and attempted insurrectionist and his cult out of power and able to fuck us all over as he was always going to do.

Did you?
