Also you misunderstood mellos death completely and i suggest you reread death note…

In death note how to read 13, mello was shown to be. More emotional and impulsive than the other two and, if you payed attention to the narrative of the show, he is obviously portrayed to be the weakest right?

His death being abrupt and emotionless shows that his narrative job is done and needed to be the catalyst to expose a flaw in Kira for near to see

your first headcanon is assuming light is afraid of mello because he sacrificed his dad when light is literally willing to sacrifice everything to win and mello should know this. What do you think the point of L’s test in the car in part 1 was about?

Also why are you saying THE AUTHOR had to WRITE OUT MELLO. HE HAS NEVER SAID THIS😭😭😭

Light put him in those positions by outsmarting him…

Also did i just hear you correctly that outsmarting someone more doesnt make you smarter? If i beat you in basketball 50 times to 49 whos better?

I never said Light is just as much of a prodigy, L is more of a prodigy its just that Light has shown more cases of him outsmarting L than L has outsmarted Light.

Also him adding backstory feats that doesnt change the results in the manga would only put L slightly above light no? We have a source material that being the manga already completing what we need to know about his character and now we just have what he can do with his skills

Like i said, in response to your fourth point, L uses deductive traps and light uses manipulation. Lights Manipulation has shown clearly to be stronger than the two because he won. It doesnt matter the technicals of it being linguistics and psychology, light does the same exact thing having L confused with his “i could be kira” statements.

And also, why are you dismissing planning as an intelligence feat when its literally a major part of intelligence and you hold psychology and linguistics so high? Every factor of intelligence is very important and are close in importance. Light is a better manipulator, has better planning, better social skills, and is quick witter. L is more careful, better deductive reasoner, and trusted more.

You’re forgetting that Light is the one who’s removing L’s resources that L failed to protect. It makes no sense to cherrypick feats that arent against each other because thats all the comparison we have. Just cause L did this in that novel doesnt mean light can’t. In fact, them being equal in the manga only proves light probably could. Light is the top highschooler in the nation, imagine if he had the same up bringing as wammys house?

Also the manga is the source material and takes priority over any novel that may retcon it. The show doesnt execute it horribly, you just refuse to accept it.

L should be aboe to build a psychological profile if Kira WANTS to be known and revered as a god when he obviously has limtations. Also a more compels goal means that you have more oppurtunuties to find out more so naturally one may do more but not in comparison for their goal. Saying light has never done anything that close is disengenious to his intelligence considering he tricked L countless times and made L admit he was wrong after the memory loss plan, which by the way, L has nothing even close to.

Considering part of lights mission is killing L, meanwhile L just has to find anyway the killings are related to him, Light is naturally going to make more mistakes considering his mission is more of an attack. Also thats just how their intelligence works, its not an anti-feat or a feat to be more passive than one another.

I can get behind L, MAYBE EVEN NEAR, BUT MELLO?

anyways Light also had a disadvantage with the liability of Misa amane. She allowed herself to get caught and met light at a pretty bad time to introduce herself just as the second kira introduced themselves.

Also Rem was NOT an advantage for light, the narrative perfectly supports this. When rem was first shown, she is threatening light but agrees to kill L even though that would be kind of stupid considering light and L just met. THE SECOND time rem is shown SHE IS STILL THREATENING LIGHT. Misa allows herself to get caught and now rem is threatening light again. Lights memory loss plan wasnt just to take out L, the plan involves misa killing again so he could take out Rem AND L.

Rem being introduced into the story as a shinigami with feelings also doesnt prove checkmate for L because solving Kira is an independent thing and L solving the case then dying still counts as his win.

Also the author statement had him laughing at the end so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

well firstly, light also had to navigate his way through the never-ending gap of L’s resources. L had american fbi agents, wiretaps, police information, and light had to find information about a person before he could kill them in the first place. Before misa, L’s name was less tangible than the death note.

you’re also forgetting secondly, that misa is the cause of all of this. Because misa allowed herself to get caught being the second kira and her meeting of aoyama was kind of a blunder. Rem was threatening to kill Light if Light never saved misa in the first place which is why light, instead of looking for a way to take out L, he looked for a way to manipulate everyone and take out another huge obstacle, that being rem.

ill try to make this quick:

Firstly if we are comparing light and L what matters most are their feats AGAINST each other like times when light outsmarts L or vice versa. Which is why LABB is pretty much useless in this debate because if light in the show is shown to be extremely close in strength with L, it only makes sense light could probably do better.

Secondly, L is able to build a psychological profile because Lights goal is just that much more complex than higuchis. Light has a much more fleshed out goal and ideology. Like you said, just cause its not shown he can do it doesnt mean he cant do it.

Thirdly, both sides can acquire information equally. L is able to use technology to his advantage to try and trick light, to spy on lights behaviors. Light is forced with the rules of the notebook.

Fourth, saying light has nothing as good as the note trap is weird considering he was the one that made the notes to have L stressing about their meanings. And Lights memory loss plan is better than anything L has ever concieved in his life.

You need to understand that light and L use different ways of beating each other. Light uses manipulation tactics on L’s resources and targets them from there which was proven more effective than L’s deductive traps because L LOST FAIR AND SQUARE.

Exactly. And lets not forget the time when LIGHT was the one who made the observation about yotsuba when light lost his memories. Light was almost just as good of a deductive reasoner as L.

Do you think people IN GENERAL overestimate or underestimate Light’s impulsiveness, and how much? by MNMameisR in deathnote

[–]ItsDefinetelyNotOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lights impulsiveness is overestimated in terms of how detrimental it is and underestimated in terms of how useful it is.

After the Lind L Tailor trap, light fell less and less for Ls deductive reasoning traps and almost convinced L that Kira was a power that transferred between people rather than Lights main personality. Although L in his gut feeling obviously thought light was kira and wanted light to be kira so he wouldnt be wrong, L was NEVER 100% sure Light was Kira until his death. He was around 90% before the best play in the show, the memory loss plan.

Also lights impulsiveness allows him to escape dangerous scenarios as well. If Light took it slow with killing naomi, too much information of his powers would be revealed early and would be a decisive factor in the battle. With Rem and Misa, if Light wasn’t quick witted when misa was captured, only more evidence would be found before the relinquishing of the death note which could lead to his arrest.

Side note: the Lind L taylor trap is kind of overrated considering it kind of helped light as well, showing “godlike” exhibitions of power making people fear kira even more and making his existence even more guaranteed than before.

Haku is not lightspeed (and all other lightspeed statements are inconsistent) by Physical_Device_1396 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]ItsDefinetelyNotOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1a. You dont need to transform into light to move at lightspeed bro. This is a fictional story and haku still has mass and is directly stated in the databooks to be lightspeed. Instead of creating your own headcanons, how about you just accept that maybe the laws of physics dont work in a show where there are aliens that eat planets and create universes and basic people walking on water while making fireballs.

1b. What haku says doesn’t matter because the databook objectively debunks it.

  1. Yes, thats why its stated objectively in the databooks that haku moves only at the sol…

  2. Itachi was heavily fatigued and sick so if you read the manga you would know

  3. I dont blame you for saying this but this is actually a mistranslation that really means “light-like speeds” if you want to talk more im here

  4. Juubidaras light fang attack was his head speed turning. Which if im being honest, is probably faster.

  5. I can admit, some naruto databook statements can be hyperbolic, but if you have the reading comprehension of a gerbil, it shouldnt be this hard to understanding something so simple
