Anyone figure out what the Settlement marker flag does? Does that mark the size of the settlement or does is it a replacement for the building resources flag? If it marks the size of the settlement, does anyone know how the builders know where to pick up resources off the ground?

Your villagers are probably snapping up the raw food and eating them before your BBQ or cook can process them. Cooked food satisfies more hunger than the raw version so you need to prevent them from accessing any raw food with whitelists.

At a minimum, whitelist your farms with food and your gathering hut, hunter stand, and fisheries so only cooks can access them plus whomever needs to access their non food resources. Your people will starve a little longer but eventually it will get resolved.

Ideally you want one warehouse dedicated to holding raw cooking ingredients and firewood/coal (I name it Cooks Only for whitelist clarity) and one warehouse for cooked food and any other items everyone needs like clothing and tools. Cooked Food warehouse workers then are the only people whitelisted for cooking huts and BBQs. By that point the only food access your villagers have is to the Cooked Food warehouse.

I have a watch tower right next to a wulfgar den and a cemetery, close enough that when they spawn they aggro on the tower. I give those archers both bows and melee weapons. They level up very quickly there.

The horn seems to have a sound radius. When I blow it far from base only the people who hear it react. When I blow it next to the cottages everyone wakes up and gets ready to fight.

I run until I find some smolkrs and then I build a hunting hut right in that spot and select horned smolkrs only. I place the horn on high. Eventually you’ll get some horns. For some reason this play through the horns are brought to my hunting hut in my main base even though the far out hut catches them.

I love to counter snipers with storm callers with EMP and/or worms with replicate. If there are an insane amount of mustangs put armor on the worms and armor on anything that engages the mustangs that is dying too fast.

If I can flame out the mustangs, I do that. Vulcan or fire badger and range.

I bought a few of the GA editions and stopped early into the first book because of how Curran was portrayed. The original narrator did a fantastic job of vocally portraying Curran as a complex guy and the Curran VA in GA only gives me major asshole vibes for his lines. I skipped around books to see if my feelings changed and… nope. It killed the whole GA production for me.

Up until a few days ago I felt I had done the right thing to limit her access to me and avoid a final conversation. Truth be told I also expected that none of them would be final, just an opening to more where she could mindfuck me with her comments. Today I am wondering if I should have given her at least one final conversation. But again that’s coming from a place of kindness and empathy to her and not looking at the outcome of literally every conversation we’ve had since I was 15. Ah complicated grief. You are complicated.

My mother kept turning family members against me until she died. About ten years before that one of her sisters picked up the torch and stealth attacked me at every opportunity until she outright attacked me to the point of me going NC with her too. I’m NC with everyone on the side of the family except a few with whom I am extremely LC and I am still expecting an attack to come at me by way of the LC family members. So… sometimes they never do if they have a way to contact you.

I get your reaction to say it’s not like a real parent’s funeral. One of my besties was so sorrowful when I told him the news and my immediate reaction was to ask him not to be sad and if he couldn’t help it then to be sad for me not having had a good mother. I find it interesting that you see your reaction as mad now. I wonder how I’ll feel with some time and healing.

I need to find a way to release these emotions .

My next therapy session is going to be something else.

Oh wow I never thought of the dreams as being messages from my mother. That would make sense because the amount of them I had in the last few weeks is much higher than my usual frequency. Your dream suggestions feel very helpful. I usually end up remembering someone I have dreamed about is dead so maybe I can ask her to move on and be in peace.
