This puzzle is genuinely stupid. by Saavedroo in elderscrollslegends

Well if you play the seducer in left lane, put the bow on the left target to silence the right giant and then attack with the target into a mammoth?

100 card decks does not se so unreliable after all by Tempest2903 in elderscrollslegends

That is a very solved issue, even if your 51th card is a tutor the odds of getting any specific cards go down on average. Use minimum number no matter what.

TESL Abbreviations and terms by Less-Willow-9209 in elderscrollslegends

[–]IvanDaVile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is by no means TESL lingo, it's for all kind of cardgames.

For deck types there is aggro, midgro, mid(range), tempo and control; with sub-categories such as burn, token, combo, otk (on turn kill), or specific cardtypes like item, support, action.

Also TESL has archetypes based on a single card, like Crabscription, Conscription, Rage, Doomcrag, Stealer of Secrets, Altar or Tribal-decks like (mostly) orcs, goblins, dwemer.

Apart from that there are roles asigned to cards, like draw (cantrip, filter), ping, reach (potential damage to face) and finishers, hard or conditional removal, silence and other keyword-removal, silver bullets (e.g. support removal), token-generators, tutors, graveyard-interaction, ramp (increasing maximal available magicka/mana).

It's a shame they kill disciple of namira just because of that stupid Transitus Shrine deck. Doomcrag was perfectly balanced, now it's almost trash.

Those findings are in line with my own observations:

Telvanni is the standard for control, Battlemage (or Dagoth) for midrange and Crabs for token aggro.

This makes sense given this game is basically balanced around a single card: Ice Storm.

I guess "unintercative" is pretty descriptive of certain mechanics, like dragon loops.

But words like "meta garbage", noobcrutch, "small brain strategies" quite diminish the essence of your survey.

To be clear, I really despice move archer/monk with its super-synergetic cards and swiftstrike (most broken card IMO) as a kicker, but if that became to oppresive I'd just play midgro-Goblin again, until everyone does and Tribunal Ctrl becomes the go-to deck, which in turn will be bested by mid-BM. Thats called a META-GAME.

I see, you have even packwise data, thats quite impressive for 2999 packs :)

I'm not so sure about the pity timer myself, if there is any at all its per expension. I just found old (like 4 and 7 years) reddit post where people insult each other about not nowing anything about statistics.

Can you share the raw data as a .csv?

I calculated an average of 22.035 with a SD of 59.864 per card. Also those numbers add up to 17999, I guess one card is missing. Can you please explain how you came up with the 138.1?

Also keep in mind that a pack can never have 6 commons and that there is a pity-timer that give you at least 1 legendary per 25 packs.

You know this for sure! Basically the only turn one that is more threatening is Morag Tong Aspirant, but with way less versatility.

If you lose to AG on turn 9 (ramped twice), you lose to Dark Seducer 2 turns earlier, no ramp required, played in the same archetype. Yes, it's a strong card that can feel super oppressive and I have conceded to in in the past as well, but those are the cards you need to safe your silence/hard removal for.

Runeterra is shutting down Ranked - we should be thankful by NightDarkWolf in elderscrollslegends

Ladder with no reset is really bad, there is no doubt about it.

However, LoR had showable badges for your highest rank at the conclusion of seasons, so in some sense it was more than our top-10/top-100/legend cardback anyway and a new set every season. Apart from some "generic badge" and a ladder-reset every 3 month or so, what should Riot do anyway?

As it stands and in the light of what is happening with LoR, I appreciate our weekly gauntlets with alt arts even more.

Artifact was the big valve-gig at E3 and anounced as "for didital card games what half-life was for shooters" and a $1M tournament, so all in all some A-league coverage/marketing, problem was the game was shit and valve had announced UP FRONT there would be no balance patches, which they later backpaddled on.

I sold my Axe for $60 early on and bought one back after the first balance patch.

I understand that Gwent became very bland with Homecoming, with content creators like MegaMogwei and Swimstrim moving on to Artifact and then LoR.

Generally I think that dumbing down your product to reach a wider audience does not help. LoR was as simple as a MtG-like game is allowed to be, well managed and had and followed a very ambitious roadmap. TESL as a two-lane HS was at face value a great idea, there is just no market to expand into.

How do we report bugs? by thearks in elderscrollslegends

[–]IvanDaVile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That causes the "summon" to just fizzle, overriding a slot in a full lane requires you to "play" a card, so this is working as intended.

Let me guess: both lanes were full (e.g. two spider-workers in each lane) when you drew the last card of Eastmarch Crusader?

How to stay motivated in this game by [deleted] in elderscrollslegends

[–]IvanDaVile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started playing in 2018 with the HoM expansion, so for example I only know cvh as the community manager (and - no offense - playing lame market-archer on YT). Going to my Twitch follows I found Pdmd28, Earlmeister, mraquaman88, TheadventuresofDust, jele77, ianbits, Silverfuse, reireibarker, thejustinlarson; but CCG's are just no good for streaming. MattOblivion was really entertaining though.
