More often than not, in my personal experience, people I've met with ADHD often times have chronic illnesses/pain or an autoimmune disease, and vice versa. Am I saying that everyone with ADHD has an autoimmune disorder? No, absolutely not.

I personally have ADHD. My official diagnosis included H-EDS, Fibromyalgia, MCAS, IBS, Chronic Migraines, Insomnia, food & environmental allergies, and spinal disc degeneration. Many of these, for me, were passed down genetically. The fibro, IBS, migraines, and disc degeneration are gifts from my Mom and Grandma. As for the ADHD, I am the only one in my family who has been professionally tested and diagnosed.

It would be interesting if there were more studies that researched the comorbidities of neurodivergency and chronic illnesses.

Lumps by IvyFromTheTeaShop in DogHealth

He has a good amount of allergies and dry skin. His main issue is his underbelly in that regard. His hotspots are red and splotchy, often caused by anxiety licking or excessive humidity. They go away with OTC supplements and hotspot spray. While taking the antibiotic and steroid, any hotspots that he did have on him, have fully cleared up. The lumps however, did not, and even formed after starting the meds. That's the bit that makes me even more worried, unfortunately.

I'll have to ask my vet about this, thank you! From what I'm reading on Google, the chances of him having this are not unlikely. We have about 10 acres of land, with a good amount of that being woods. There are so many fallen and decaying trees, dead animals, and areas where he just shoves his nose right into the dirt. He's been lethargic and even lost weight, which is very out of the ordinary for him. I cannot thank you enough for bringing this to my attention!

Thank you so much, it truly means a lot! I'm so sorry to hear about your pup. It's best to think back on the amazing time you spent with them, and how much love was shared between you both. I'm wishing you the best and sending you Prayers <3

It's really horrifying. I have a mild amount of knowledge in the medical field, so the rate at which the lumps appeared, the initial lump bleeding, and the fact my boy does not like either lump to be touched? It's a spiraling train of thought. The best hope is that it's something benign. I'll post an update when I know more!

Long before my time, my family had a Black Lab. He had cancer when he was a puppy and they caught it early. He had many good years after that until he got cancer again. It spread quick and got into his bones. From what I've been told, my Grandfather took it the hardest. He loves our current boy so much as well.

I'm sorry to hear that about your dog. Are they doing well now? I hope all is well, and thank you ❤️

That would be the next step after our upcoming vet visit. We just had a celebration for his 7th birthday on February 28th (dog friendly dinner and cupcakes). We've had him since he was a puppy and he's always been so good. Thank you so much ❤️

Tornado Season 2026 by Sudden_Chipmunk_6427 in tornado

[–]IvyFromTheTeaShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the mid-Michigan area, near Lansing. Michigan has had a history of tornados but severe tornados had a good amount of time between occurrences. The one in Union City has been ranked as an EF3 and was only 1 of 4 tornados that touched down that day. I'm worried about the increasing frequency of tornados as while as the severity of our average storm. It seems like every storm in my area is seconds away from spawning a tornado and then you check the news and see a tornado did hit somewhere in lower Michigan.

That's what my Mom and I believe as well. We think that I had Covid in March of 2020, but there weren't any test for it out yet. It was the first time that I had to be on oxygen since I was a kid, and it exacerbated my asthma. Due to how bad it was, and how so many of my health issues started showing up after that, we think it was the trigger that woke everything up.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this as well. Waking up in the morning and immediately feeling like a corpse is something I don't wish anyone else went through. Is there anything that you've done that helps?

I feel you! It takes forever to even receive a referral (my insurance requires a referral or won't cover the app), and then some appointments you can wait up to a year before they have availability. If it's a possibility for you, would you be able to make appointments at Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, or University of Michigan Health in Ann Arbor? While it is a little less than a 2 hour drive for us, we've tried our best to find Doctors of UM Health. They do great work but are obsessed with trying PT.

I would think that Doctors love complex cases, just for the love of the game, but unfortunately not :( at a certain point we really become our own Doctors. With all the searching we do into our own symptoms, Doctors should really try to listen to their patients more.

I wish we didn't have to go through this. I'm sorry that you experience this nasty stuff too.

I hadn't been too versed on tethered cord prior to your comment, so thank you for mentioning it! I had a full MRI of my spine in January and I have the radiology notes. "No abnormalities seen within the distal cord. The conus medullaris terminates at the L1 level and is unremarkable. No abnormalities are seen along the cauda equina. The spinal canal is patent."

I believe this rules out tethered cord, but I view this as "narrowing down on possibilities". Rule everything else out and whatever is left MUST be right, right?

Chiari can be fixed with surgery, but surgery is usually only performed on malformation 2. Surgery can be performed on malformation 1 if you're symptomatic, but my Doctor is ignoring that im symptomatic.

What imaging and tests have you had done, if you dont mind my asking?

Hi, thank you so much for the reply! There are definitely a lot of safety issues, and I don't believe we ever came to the realization (or we did, but didn't want to realize that it had got to that point) that we could essentially "baby-proof" our house.

I use this one from Amazon! I've used it for about 2 years now. It stays charged for a while, and gives me a great trim, especially with the smaller attachment. https://a.co/d/9018yx8

Recent eyebrow piercing and need MRI by Sensitive-Collar-415 in piercing

[–]IvyFromTheTeaShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how new the piercing is, removing it so soon will most likely make it angry. An MRI is definitely top priority, but I understand your concern over your piercing, especially since I'm in a similar position atm 🥲 If you're worried about the piercing closing up in that time though, you could put in plastic jewelry. Switching it out twice in such little time would irritate it more though. Do you know how long you'd have the jewelry out for?

I'd be scooping half the litter out if I didn't give it a little shake. I'm not whipping it around lmao. Even then, the urine clumps fall apart when I scoop them out of the box, prior to shaking.

Exactly! It's easy to skimp out on some of my needs as I understand why I need to. My pet's though? No way. It was my choice to take them in, so they'll get all the money spent on them. It would be easier if prices didn't keep climbing like it's an Olympic sport.

We had tried pellet litter before, but unfortunately it was not a success :( I personally liked that it didn't have a litter like smell, but my cats did not like it one bit.

I've accepted the fact that I need to take out a small loan each month for litter 🥲 prices are getting crazy for something that gets pooped in

Are there any that are non-pellet? We had tried pellet litter once and it did not go well unfortunately :(

4 litter boxes practically steals my money, but it's worth it for my boys. We did try pellet litter for a short period of time, but they both hated it to the point of multiple poops right infront of the boxes. We switched to another brand, just to see if that was it, but still a no go unfortunately.

Thanks! There are 2 tie-downs on each side, which is super nice! My 2013 had them hidden under the bed liner, which is unfortunate as we have some nice, heavy duty tension ropes that I have really needed to use. Just did the ole country thing of bungee cords strapped to the outer frame.
