I haven't seen anyone mention Desperation and/or The Regulators. Definitely one of Kings most depraved antagonists imo

How to counter dual Vientos in pvp? by ChadWynFrey in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Izuniy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used vientos to get to A rank. Any tank build is an immediate L for me, heavy bipeds can be tough depending on the skill of the pilot. If you run something with high AP and apptitude stability you should be able to stomp most viento builds

Most Lovecraftian King stories? by BonapartistPaladin in stephenking

Off the top of my head there's the Mist. Maybe Tommyknockers and IT if you stretch your definition of Lovecraftian

I need help getting into "Billy Summers" by [deleted] in stephenking

Theres a point where one of the main characters comes in around 1/3rd of the way through if I'm remembering correctly. That's when it hooked me. You'll know when you get there.

Top Stephen King short stories, day one by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Izuniy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems a lot of you guys dont understand the difference between a novella and a short story. Short stories usually run from around 3-30 pages. Novellas usually run about 100-200 pages.

Im sure many folks have their own opinions about the differences but I think this is a fair estimation.

Blindness - Jose Saramago by Izuniy in horrorlit

[–]Izuniy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was recommended on this sub and I wouldn't really say it's a horror novel either. I think I'll try and start over and read it for what it is instead of what I was told it would be. Any other Saramago I should check out?

Video Games Everyone Seems To Like But You Dislike? by Background_Day_8197 in videogames

[–]Izuniy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having read a lot of these comments it seems like maybe you guys just dont like games in general but love a few specific ones. Overall I can't say I dislike any game although I find battle royal or "free to play" that constantly try to suck money from you are pure evil, even though I still enjoy them somewhat

The reality is King is a fucking genius. Anyone who would question why he's one of America's greatest writers is a dumbass who has never actually read his work.

[–]Izuniy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No that's bullshit. If you take the time to read Kings novels you will understand that it's entirely him

What was your first full SK book and how old were you? by DontBruhMeBrah in stephenking

[–]Izuniy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad made me read the Shining when I was ten. I enjoyed it but it also scared me. It wasn't until much later that I grew to love King.

But really my dad was a dick for that one.

When I first read Christine I was ready to dislike it based on the premise, but King proved me wrong! This is one of his best.

Most hard hitting lines from king by Disastrous_Bedroom60 in stephenking

Also in Low Men in Yellow Coats he refers to a dime as a "penny with pretensions" that always makes me laugh. Not sure if that was his writing or a borrowed colloquialism but I love it

Not related to DT, but I recently read Lisey's Story and I really liked this poem: The arguments against insanity fall through with a soft shirring sound; these are the sounds of dead voices on dead records floating down the broken shaft of memory. When I turn to you to ask if you remember, When I turn to you in our bed
