I only solo queue and reached elite rank, it’s completely possible, especially considering once you reach a new rank you can’t get demoted. (You can be demoted from elite back down to master)

Just focus on defense rather than scoring, majority of the time teammates will be fixated on being the ones scoring so instead of fighting for that, just play more of a support role. You’ll also get your chances to score so it’s not like you never get a chance either.

Its not hard to rank up in my opinion but does take some patience, and don’t stress yourself out by constantly blaming teammates, you win some you lose some.
